Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

Today we are so pleased to introduce you with the most amiable, friendly, charming and alluring face of 2k9 Session of Electrical Engineering Department, One and Only Mr. Asim Abbas Virk.
We are sharing this wonderful picture from his wedding ceremony.

During his acadamic career at UET Taxila, He has been very popular and well known for his assertive behavior equally amongst his Session fellows, Seniors, Juniors, Teachers, RTs and all the administrative officials.

He was always responsive and confident whenever it was about any of his beloved one or any acquaintance. Despite being socially super-active and vibrant, he also completed his education in time with exceptionally a wonderful score.

He always used to go out of the way for almost every single person in his social circle throughout his acadamic career. He expressed this through his assertive leadership behavior. He was one of the most beloved person amongst his session fellows, seniors and juniors due to his lovely and assertive behavior for almost everyone around him.

We came to know from our sources that he got married quite recently.
We congratulate him on the very special day of his life.
May the Almighty bring more happiness and prosperity into his life.
We wish him a lifetime of love and happiness.

Regards:
Team Uet Taxila Hall of Fame

Hi, this is Sufyan from 12CP. Currently, I am on way to achieve one of my goals. I hope the day would come when the same page would reveal the achievement, InShaAllah.
Thanks to the UET hall of fame for giving me opportunity to express my views.
Asslam oo Alaikum!

Q.What is the most beautiful place which you still remember in UET Taxila...?

Well, library and Jamia Masjid are the the places full of beauty and elegance.

Q. what is your best memory in this University?

There are many but the most prominent were my birthday celebrations in 2013 and election conducted for CRship in my 4th semester..
Q. Who was your best friend in UET which you still miss? This can be more than one but you will have to share some naughty acts with him/her?

There were many finest lads in the university. I spent great time with Khurram Gondhall ,from 11cp. Once, he teased me and I was so offended that I filled his joggers with his shampoo and he knew it in the morning, before leaving for the class. And I also had fight with him in GHQ chowk, that was also memorable. Other great guys from UET were Usman Butt, Hafiz Ibraheem, Rizwaan Ali, Awais Butt, Faisal Tahir and Sufyan Gondhal.

Q. who is your favorite personality in UET(it must not from faculty but from students).. ?

Bilal Malik from 10EE( founder of SIEP) he has all in himself, that includes humor, decency, dedication etc.
Other favorite personality is Usman Butt from 11cp, He is a pure guy with a heavy heart .
Q. Which was your enjoyment in UET Taxila, you miss ?

Taking tea with cracking jokes at Nwazish cafe was the jolliest memory from that time.

Q. Why did you come to UET Taxila? And after passing out what difference you feel academically and socially from other universities environments and Engineers?

Academically I have nothing to say. But socially, people are much cooperative and helpful to each other. There was less envy amongst the students .
Q. what is your definition of love and friendship.. ?

One should avoid love. Anyhow, my definition of love is "sincerity and respect". Friendship is all about give and take. There is no reason of having that person in your friend list who say no to you in your time of need.

Q. your favorite books..??

Forty rules of love is a masterpiece by Alif Shafaq
2ndly, Angela Duckworth's "GRIT" also has much in itself.
Q. what improvements you will suggest in UET TAXILA on academic and social grounds.??

Courses should be updated according to the latest technologies(HEC should bring it under the light). Personality development along with character building should also be focussed.
On social ground, One in university must realize that interactions are not relationships.

Q.One thing you like the most in UET Taxila.?

Lawn of Comp department and Nawazish cafe.

Q. Your Crush in UET, if you want to mention here.

Honestly speaking ,there were many. But, I never approached to'em.

Q. What would be your advices to the present sessions of UET Taxila as an Elder ?

They must figure out their post-degree fields and should develop skills accordingly. GPA between 2.7 to 3.3 is good enough, so no need to race for GPA.

Q. One favorite saying.?

Winners never quit, quitters never win.

Q. When did you last time visit Uet? When and why ? And when would you like to come again ? Why/ Why not ?

I visited univ yesterday to receive my degree.I went there exactly after 5 years.

Q. Your comments and views about UET Taxila Hall o Fame?

People behind the UET hall of fame are doing a great job. Juniors must know the seniors and their social and job experiences.

A must read article written by a Kashmiri from Indian Occupied Kashmir

Geelani

There are no two lines between good and evil.
There only is one.
A very thin one.
We all evaluate which one we are walking on.
We all need to recheck if some of us already crossed that line.

As far as Syed Ali Shah Geelani ( R.A) is concerned, we are too vague, too self-centered, too busy to even comprehend a problem that might not involve our narcissistic petty schedules and aims , too lost to find , too selfish and blind, too preposterous and unkind, too involved in our mind, too lame to even speak to, too dumb to understand and too damn naive to even try to timeline his whole life.

Today , we do not speak. We bow down, we stand trembling, we worry, we cry, we Mourn. We could also chose to do otherwise and be occupied to our daily chains, chores, jobs, appointments, rendezvous’s, lectures etc.

It is for us to decide what side of the history do we want to be a part of.

The internet has been blocked, the telephones not-surprisingly dont exist for god knows how many days. The streets are curfewed. The opposite of all those notions would contradict the liars , the deaf, the schemers, the rats, the collaborators and their counterparts.

Geelani will live regardless of all those restrictions, facades, curtains, cover ups and monologues.

The very fact that even imprisonments couldn’t cage him.

They did in a very physical context but the spirit , the ideas, the message, the truth, the hunger , the worry , the care, the clarity, the power and the intent he lived his life by could never be caged.

How do we even comprehend to judge the likes of a man who for the past seven or eight decades constantly saw discomfort, problems, harassment, house arrests, incarcerations, for aims not personal.

How does a weasel judge a lion’s state of mind, his reflexes, his attacks, his ability to take calculative risks and tear apart his opponents not just because he can but because he has to. Every now and then he has to show the jungle, who the king is.

Geelani might have been silent since past many years and not as actively and loudly roaring as before but the generations before after and among us know his credentials, stances, lectures, messages , slogans lucidly. Some of us might have been sketchy about the intentions behind all those notions but then again, how does a free man understand the psyche and agglomerations of a prisoner. Most of the free men are anyway prisoners of their own demons, shame, guilt, egos, envy and greed. Then there are men who regardless of being in prisons for most parts of their lives liberate themselves beyond any man made cages. A cage anyway restricts the body. It was never about the body anyway. For the likes of Geelani, and everyone else who chose to
“choose se a life
knowing they would lose a life”.

We do not need no validations and certifications from people who subjectively and schematically propose to sideline a voice and vacuum his presence for decades constantly only to make it more preposterous by not even allowing a proper funeral. It speaks volumes about “the thin lines of right and wrong “.
Maybe It isn’t that hard to choose a line.
Maybe it is.

Lets ask that ourselves.

-We’ve been violated and we hate the Feeling!

The likes of those who bashed Geelani for giving our hartaal -shutdown calls which by all means seemed to have been the only act of constantly reminding the oppressors of their wrongdoings and collaborators of their tyranny, would also shamelessly paint their walls with “ heartbreak emojis “ and “ strikingly appealing farewells”.

Maybe thats what all this is about. Maybe , we all die down after a week or months mourning and return back to our “ normal “ lives and be orderly, timely and pathetically misconstrued about this whole notion of “ right and wrong”.

Pretty fair.

We all got lives to live, fights to fight, places to be, right to be free , goals to achieve, milestones to reach, dreams to accomplish, fears to conquer, families to make, decisions to take, personalities to fake, shackles to break, targets to aim, summit the fame, even if its lame, play this game, these demons to tame, and die in shame.

Maybe this is just another day like many other days, blowing smoke from purple haze, trying to survive our toughest phase, watch all whats happening and just gaze.

Maybe it is just the notion of “ another one bites the dust, who do we trust, this all greed and lust , take life as a rave, pretend to be brave, grow up live like a slave, only to lay low in a shallow grave.

Maybe it is not how it seems to be on the outside, or the downside - of it all yields nothing.

You be sane in taking sides, we got problems we cant hide ,
we got duties we cant evade,
memories so haunted they never fade, chaos that eats up daily lives,
butchers on roads carrying no knives,
pale blue faces turning grim,
gates to break , barbed wires to trim.
You be talking “
who’s right and who’s wrong,
Go to a studio make a new song,
joke about some bu****it on radio and carry on,
do your day come back home and sit in your lawn
wake up to the rising sun ,
start from one, and then start to run
knowing many didnt make it the same day that you claimed to be great, its late.
Or is it?
You ask

We are anyway fighting the world and the world within. Thats how it has always been

“The Godfather leaves
The least a nation could do is “ it grieves”.

The skies would be filled with joy today.
The 313 of Badr would scream “ its our boy today”

The angels would be proud and singing
In a golden shroud would Geelani be swinging

Even Aadam would stand tall and shout
This is all what bravery is about.

Eisa wont raise him from dead
He never died, He held on to the thread

Moosa would watch and stare at the man
Hamza would scream “ he was part of the plan”

Yousuf would just praise his looks
Sulaiman would say “ i read all your books”

Nooh would stand tall on his ark
Geelani , already be on his mark

Ibrahim would then shake his hand
With Prophet Taking him to promised land

There stands Geelani tall and firm
Before the Lord, thereby to affirm

That he did what was supposed to be done
Face the fire and never run
Till he comes to his return”

Hi Folks, Today we are accompanied with Abshar Chaudhary, 2k08 Session from Multan.
Let's have a discussion with him.

Hi, Abshar is my name . I,m from 2k8 session. Multan is my hometown. Currently i,m associated with DHA Multan and doing my Master in Structure Engineering from Multan.

Q.What is the most beautiful place which you still remember in UET Taxila...?
Out side benches of civil engineering department, Nawazish cafe(when it was left side of software department) Q-Hall Room No.232 and U.E.T Weather specially rainy nights.

Q. what is your best memory in this University?
Ans: U.E.T give a lot of memories in these four years .Once we had a group of 6-7 friends. That group enjoy a lot by teasing the classmates ,Hooting over the group of girls( in control manners) and most importantly jugat baazi in Hostel Rooms with juniors, seniors and in the group was a much fun that time.

Q. Who was your best friend in UET which you still miss? This can be more than one but you will have to share some naughty acts with him/her?
Talha Aslam , Zohaib Azhar Malik , Hammad Raza, Engr Muhammad Shoaib and Rana Muaaz Bin Nisar. These friends are very special for me. One of my friend in this group was a pedant he used to study very hard in exams days and gave hopes to all of us by saying that don,t worry i will teach all of you once i finalize my preparation. But He never taught us in these fours years and disappeared a night before the exams by saying that do your study as i,m still not sure about my preparation .Beside all that one of our lazy friend got more marks than him .We make fun of it almost four years.
2nd most hilarious thing we did was hanging a ewer "loota " at R.T Room at midnight when all were sleeping. During this act R.T got awake and asked who is outside !! We all ran away by screaming R.T is coming ....all the students were out of their rooms as they thought it,s earthquake ...😆😆😆...As the R.T open the door , ewer water was on his head ...he got Furious but nobody knows who did all this except me and my friends.

Q. who is your favorite personality in UET(it must not from faculty but from students).. ?
Not a single one .My seniors specially Engr Imran Umar Lodhi (2K5), Tariq Nazir (2k5), Idrees Azeem (2k6), Nauman Shakeel (2k6), Waqar Ahmad (2k7)

Q. Which was your enjoyment in UET Taxila, you miss ?
Gossips , Jugat baazi, setting idle at Nawazish cafe and library, Fooling of new session, getting treats from seniors at their farewell ,going Rawalpindi Sadar bazar for shopping and dinner, watching late night movies in hostel.
Q. Why did you come to UET Taxila? And after passing out what difference you feel academically and socially from other universities environments and Engineers?

I never want to come at UET Taxila .My dream was to get admission in U.E.T Lhr but i had to attend uet taxila as per my academic record .But at the end we all fall in love with uet and it,s a fact .
I found uet engineers very competent and technical in every field from other universities like NUST , FAST ,Etc except in communication skills and self confidence.Hostel life and student interaction are very prominent features of U.E.T Taxila

Q. what is your definition of love and friendship.. ?
Love somehow demands restrictions while friendship is forever and limitless.

Q. your favorite books..??
I,m not fond of books .it keep me bored 🥱 I want to abolish from books including Engineering 😃

Q. what improvements you will suggest in UET TAXILA on academic and social grounds.??
On academic grounds U.E.T must enforce the soft skills instead of bookish knowledge .we taught many things which we never seen and apply in the fields that things get an engineer bored .We 90 % Engineers are executor of work in the field while it,s not an engineer job .U.E.T must focus on design softwares for conceptual study.while on social basis U.E.T must organize recreational trips/events , concerts .Gender discrimination must be halted in U.E.T.

Q.one thing you like the most and dislike the most in UET Taxila.?
Students interaction and U.E.T Hostel life i think best from other universities.
Gander discrimination and city wise community system are worse things in uet.
Q. Your Crush in UET, if you want to mention here.
"Jis per hamara crush tha us per already rush tha" so no comments 🤐

Q. What would be your advices to the present sessions of UET Taxila as an Elder ?
If you want to get success in field then focus on soft skills .Enjoy every moment of your university life but keep in mind you must have enough grades that enable you to get an interview call from a good company or you may get admission in any foreign university.

Q. One favorite saying.?
Happiness is a choice !!!

Q. When did you last time visit Uet? When and why ? And when would you like to come again ? Why/ Why not ?

I think back in 2014 i visit uet taxila with friends when i apply for MS admission.i will visit again as much needed visit is pending from my end.

Q. Your comments and views about UET Taxila Hall of Fame Page ?
Thankx U.E.T hall of fame for providing a platform to express our feelings. Good work and keep going .i really enjoy different interviews from different session fellows .In busy life when i read any interviews it give a complete flashback of our session which reminds me every moment we spent over there.

Thank you so much for your time Sir and we wish you all the very best for your coming future.

22/12/2020

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
Today we are introducing you with the brilliant and the beautiful Hira Naqvi of 2k13 Session of Civil Department. She is the pride of Uet Taxila, is now living in United States and working in a well-renowned company as Project Liaison.
Let's have a discussion with her.

This is me Hira Naqvi, I was in 2k13 session of UET Taxila, honestly speaking I never wanted to come to UET but at the moment I can say it wasn't a bad decision at all, right now I am working as a Project Liaison in a well-renowned company in US.

Q.What is the most beautiful place which you still remember in UET Taxila...?

I had quite a few favorites, common room being on top of my list, It was a nice spot for girls.

Q. what is your best memory in this University?

Ans: Best memory in UET was the welcome party, I guess because I was chosen to be the Miss Civil. 😀

Q. Who was your best friend in UET which you still miss? This can be more than one but you will have to share some naughty acts with him/her?

Ans: I made quite a few friends in UET, also lost a few too. I believe it's hard finding good people specially in university life, but once you do find them it's something you can always look back too. I had friends all over the place every department, seniors, juniors and also in hostel as I spent a semester while being there too. Can't really pick & choose one or two.

Q. who is your favourite personality in UET(it must not from faculty but from students).. ?

Ans: Umm this is tough. It's hard to look up to someone's personality when you all are students even the seniors because you look at them the same way you are yourself. So I wouldn't say I had a favorite personality, but did learn a lot from amazing seniors and also juniors were great too.

Q. Which was your enjoyment in UET Taxila, you miss ?

Ans: So, now being a part of professional life things are different. When you are in University, life is nice and easy all you have to worry about is grades, which well I guess is a lot to worry about for the moment but still nothing compared to what you have to worry about once you are paid to do something at your workplace .I miss all that!
So juniors out there, make the most of it, this time won't come again.

Q. Why did you come to UET Taxila? And after passing out what difference you feel academically and socially from other universities environments and Engineers?

I came to UET as it was closer to my hometown Wah Cantt. It was a nice bus ride of 30 minutes well not really nice in summer 😀
I didn't want to commute to Islamabad/Rawalpindi so UET was my best bet.

So after passing out I can't really say as I didn't really apply for any jobs in Pakistan what I do always hear from my peers is that they have difficulties getting jobs when there are Nustains around, and that companies prefer them over Uetians.
But one thing I would like to mention is that as soon as I came to US my degree got the same recognition as any other Top university from over the world would get. Really makes me extremely happy that our degree is no less than any other university. So for all Uetians out there please know the worth of your degree and it would be nice if we can stop undermining it.

Q. what is your definition of love and friendship.. ?

Ans: Friendship & Love, both are beautiful things to find in this world, so if you find them take care of that and cherish every moment with all your heart.

Q. your favorite books..?? Ans.

Mechanics of materials by RC Hibbeler :D
Hahaha just kidding. I am not much of a reader so don't really have any favorites.
And Hibbeler still and will always haunt every engineer I guess 😀

Q. what improvements you will suggest in UET TAXILA on academic and social grounds.??

Ans. UET has always been a step back in various things from other Universities. I don't know what's going on now but the time when I was there the improvement that I would have loved if they could make was to have better classrooms, ambiance makes sucha difference. Also I did one semester in Msc Structal engineering there as well before moving abroad and the whole course was exactly the same as we studied in Bsc. So if they could atleast differentiate between the two degrees it would be a great change.
Also if everyone can look at women being equally there as well. Discrimination is to the extent that I don't even want to start on that.

Q.one thing you like the most and dislike the most in UET Taxila.?

Ans.. The thing I loved about UET was Madina photocopy shop. All assignments projects and everything I ever needed was there 😀

Didn't really like the discrimination between men and women.

Q. Your Crush in UET, if you want to mention here.

The degree and all grading system itself is very crushing. So it's always better to focus on that and try to not let it crush you xD

Q. What would be your advices to the present sessions of UET Taxila as an Elder ? Ans:

Make the most of it, don't stress much just try to keep a nice GPA and also try to involve in extra-curricular activities.
And know that where you are at right now is the place where many wish for. So don't take it for granted.

Q. One favorite saying.? Ans.

To be, or not to be.
William Shakespeare

Q. When did you last time visit Uet? When and why ? And when would you like to come again ? Why/ Why not ?

I last visited UET in 2018 that was when I was pursuing my Msc degree there. I would definitely like to visit once I come to Pakistan again just to see what has changed.

Q. Your comments and views about UET Taxila Hall of Fame Page ?

It's a nice page. 🙂 It was nice reading different people's interviews. And glad that I'll have my interview on the page too so maybe someone can learn something from that. 🙂

Hi Folks,
Today we will introduce you with Mr. Muhammad Murtaza from 2k10 Session of Electrical department. He is now serving PESCO as SDO in Peshawar, KPK. We wish him all the best for his professional career. Let's have a conversation with him.

I am Muhammad Murtaza studied BS (EE) and MS (EE) from UET Taxila, currently serving in Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) as a Sub-Divisional Office and posted in Peshawar.

Q.What is the most beautiful place which you still remember in UET Taxila...?

Ans: The most beautiful place in UET Taxila would surely be the long road from CS Department to the Gate No. 01. Another one was the Malik Dhabba, which has now been demolished for years.

Q. what is your best memory in this University?

Ans: The 4 years of University life were memorable. I can't really point out a single memory but yeah sudden trips with my friends in the last year are the ones I miss the most.

Q. Who was your best friend in UET which you still miss? This can be more than one but you will have to share some naughty acts with him/her?

Ans: I have been blessed with many friends which are still close in contact with me even after so many years. Some of them are Omair Naseer, Athar Ali Kazmi, Hatif Bin Abdul Majeed, Naveed Shahid, Usman Saleem, Hassan Chatha. Wish I could name everyone here. The act worth sharing would surely be the sudden trip to Lahore which was planned at 9 PM which having Zingers at BFF outside Gate No. 02. It was raining cats and dogs while our cars wipers were not working at all. It was a winter's night and was much fun.

Q. who is your favrit personality in UET(it must not from faculty but from students).. ?

Ans: I would like to name two. My two seniors Engr Salman Tariq bhae and Zia Ur Rahman bhae both from 2k9 session who helped me a lot during my 2nd and 3rd year.

Q. Which was your enjoyment in UET Taxila, you miss ?

Ans: Playing cricket in basketball court. Those were the days.♥️

Q. Why did you come to UET Taxila? And after passing out what difference you feel academically and socially from other universities environments and Engineers?

Ans: I have gotten admission in another well reputed University in Mechanical Engineering but I always wanted to do Electrical Engineering from Taxila or Lahore. So I didn't miss the chance when my name appeared in a merit list here. Taxila was alos my father's alma meter, so that fact also played it's part. The best thing about UET Taxila has that it has enabled people like us to perform in any environment however tough. The social bonding between students from all over the Pakistan is second to none. Academically, there is still a lot of work is needed to be done regarding teaching methods and examination system.

Q. what is your definition of love and friendship.. ?

Ans: Love may be the only cruelest thing everyone would like to experience once in his life.

True friendship lies where even silence between two persons is comfortable.

Q. your favorite books..??

Ans: Lost History: The Enduring Legacy of Muslim Scientists, Thinkers, and Artists by Michael Hamilton Morgan

Another one which I am reading now a days is Ghost Wars by Steve Coll about Afghan War.

Q. what improvements you will suggest in UET TAXILA on academic and social grounds.??

Ans: Academically the senior professors must now take much more responsibility to teach according to the latest trends, students can only learn to some extent from books and ideas of 60s and 70s.

Socially I think the days of the past were better, thats just my thought. The senior junior interaction was on whole another level. I have been there a couple of years after my graduation during my MS and that interaction has been diminishing now. I would like that to be brought back.

Q.one thing you like the most and dislike the most in UET Taxila.?

Ans: The thing I like the most about UET is life there with friends and the thing which I hated was the UET without friends.

Q. Your Crush in UET, if you want to mention here.

Ans: Idr men pighal gya, lets move on 😂

Q. What would be your advices to the present sessions of UET Taxila as an Elder ?

Ans: Enjoy the University life as much as you can with your besties but never compromising on your future as toughest days are ahead. You can take these two things side by side if you want. Respect your teachers and seniors and feel free to seek them for help.

Q. One favorite saying.?

Ans: "I am not ashamed to confess that I am ignorant of what I do not know."

-Marcus Tullius Cicero (Ancient Roman Stateman)

Q. When did you last time visit Uet? When and why ? And when would you like to come again ? Why/ Why not ?

Ans: Just a couple of ago to have some document attested. Would love to come there again but with a couple of friends to relive the moments of past.

Q. Your comments and views about UET Taxila Hall of Fame Page?

Ans: It's a well run page to let the newer sessions know about their seniors, their experiences and the old days of University. Kudos to the admins and best of luck.
