Manufaktura is an arts centre, shopping mall, and leisure complex in Łódź. A major tourist asset of the city, it includes the largest public square in Łódź, which acts as a venue for cultural and sports events.
Manufaktura is located in the central part of the city, in the former industrial complex founded by Izrael Poznański. The reconstruction of the former factory was done in such a way as to partially preserve the old atmosphere of this place. Therefore, old, post-factory buildings made of red, unplastered brick dominate here, but have been completely rebuilt inside. The idea is part of the revitalization activities popular in cities with an industrial past - aimed at preserving the urban atmosphere of the past with a modern use of the building.

Even if the weather got colder, you still have a lot of things to do in Lodz.🤩 If you are interested in modern art, we bring you the perfect place to visit, Museum MS2.

The collection presented by the MS2 Museum focuses mainly on the art of the 20th and 21st centuries. It is an unique collection because it was created by the artists themselves, who donated their works to the future museum. It should be mentioned that the Łódź Art Museum is one of the oldest museums of modern art in the world.

The core of the collection are the works of the world-famous "ar" group - Władysław Strzemiński, Katarzyna Kobro and Henryk Stażewski. It was thanks to their inspiration that works from artists were obtained and a collection was established.

The museum is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 12:00 to 6:30pm. It is located at Ogrodowa Street 19, in Manufaktura complex. Go and visit it. You won’t regret it!🔥

Today we have another suggestion for a beautiful place to visit in Lodz, Museum Miasta Lodzi. When you come in Lodz, you definitely should go visit it. You won’t regret it!🤩

The museum was established in 1975 in the former seat of the Łódź factory owner - Izrael Kalmanowicz Poznański. The palace was built by Poznański and his sons at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries and is the most magnificent of the many residences erected here at that time, whose splendor is to testify to the position and wealth of the owners.

The palace itself is monumental, neo-baroque, richly decorated with various architectural and sculptural elements. Domes and turrets covered with tin scales tower over its roofs. The interiors look equally great, especially the representative ones: a ballroom, a dining room, a card lounge and a billiard room, decorated with colored marble, paintings, mosaics etc.

It is noteworthy that in these days in the garden we can admire the vegetation that remembers the walks of the Poznański family. A characteristic feature of the palace garden is the huge variety of the local greenery - trees, shrubs and creepers occurring in nearly 60 species.

You can go visit the museum from Tuesday to Sunday for an unique experience. It is located at Ogrodowa Street 15. Hope you will enjoy it!😍

Are you a fan of ice skating? If so, we recommend you the perfect place for having fun when you are visiting Lodz.

Ice skating rink "Bombonierka" is a good choice for all winter sports fans. The skating rink is open during winter season(from late October) from Tuesday to Sunday. You can come with your own skating equipment, but you can also find rental service here. Don’t be afraid of the cold, because the skating rink is inside.

The price for entrance is 10PLN, but if you are a group of more than 8 people you will have a 20% discount. The price for renting skates is 5PLN.

The skating rink is suitable for everyone, so you can come with your family and have a great time together. 🙂

Today we bring you another beautiful place in Lodz that you must visit.

The Herbst Palace Museum is not only a historical house, but also an institution that collects and makes available collections of old paintings, sculptures, graphics, arts and crafts.

The villa has an impressive interior that presents the lifestyle of a wealthy factory family. It was built in 1876 for the daughter of the greatest entrepreneur in Łódź, Karol Scheibler - Matylda, and her husband Edward Herbst.

The aesthetic qualities of the villa are largely emphasized by the surrounding garden, which gives the whole layout the character of a country residence.

You can go visit the Palace from Tuesday to Sunday between 11:00-17:00 at Przędzalniana Street 72.

If you are interested in history, then we have a place that you should visit when you come in Lodz.

The Lodz Jewish Cemetery, also known as the New Jewish Cemetery, was once the largest Jewish cemetery in Poland, but also in the world. It was opened in 1892 on the land donated to the local municipality by Izrael Poznański and in present ocupies 44 hectares of land.

In more than 100 years of history, many important people from the city like well known rabbis, fabricants, physicians, politicians, social activists were buried in this cemetery.

During World War II the cemetery was used to bury the Jews from the Litzmannstadt Ghetto. Up to this day, from the side of Bracka Street, there is a so-called Ghetto Field with anonymous gravestones.

Today, the cemetery contains about 180,000 marked graves, as well as mass graves of victims of the Litzmannstadt Ghetto and the Holocaust.

The cemetery was maintained by the donations of the rich industrialists whose lavish tombs can be admired up to this day.

Poland celebrates today its regained independence in 1918 after 123 years of Austro-Hungarian, Russian and Prussian domination.

In 1795 Poland is shared between the Austro-Hungarian empire, Russia and Prussia. Despite
insurgencies and a revolution these efforts were in vain.

During the first world war, Austria, Germany, Russia and United States want to create an
independant Polish state to appropriate the human potential and the loyalty of the soldiers. The government is created the 6th of November.

The 11th November 1918 is known for the armistice but it is also the same day as the Council of Regency transmits to Jozef Pilsudski military authority.

Since 1937, the 11th of November is considered as a national holiday.

The atmosphere of these moments were described by the Prime Minister at the time, Jedrzej Moraczewski: "Impossible to convey this exaltation, this crazy joy in which the Polish people are immersed at this moment. [...] Freedom ! Independence ! Union! Our own state! Forever ! Chaos? It's nothing. Everything will be alright. [...]. Who has not witnessed those brief days and has not shared immense joy with the whole nation at that time, cannot experience the greatest joy in life "

After 123 years of captivity, Poland becomes again un independant State and regains its
sovereignty on the international scene.
