We hope that the first day of JPM went great for you and you are looking for upcoming scientific expierience! Nevertheless we have one more announcement for active participants! We still have available spots for our Banquet! 👀🕺💃

Banquet after the Conference will take place in Hotel Ambasador Premium in Lodz (Jana Kilińskiego 145, 90-315 Łódź). Banquet will start on 11th May at 20:00.

Entrance to the Banquet is available to all students, who chose this option in active participants registration and payment form. The fee for the Conference + Banquet is 55€.

We are happy to introduce our speaker Dr. Michael Alfertshofer, who is among the top of the young scientists in the world. He finished his medical studies a year ago, and is now pursuing a degree in dentistry and residency in maxillofacial surgery. His scientific output includes nearly 100 publications, editorial and reviewer work in high impact factor journals and numerous presentations at international conferences.

His research interests include facial anatomy, plastic surgery, oromaxillofacial surgery and artificial intelligence.

We are thrilled to announce arrival of Dr. Ali Jawaid, who will conduct a lecture about "The role of metabolic and epigenetic factors in trangenerational transmission of trauma"

Dr. Ali Jawaid is a physician-scientist with training in both clinical and basic neuroscience. He completed his medical studies from Aga Khan University, Karachi, Pakistan, and followed it up with clinical/research training in Neuropsychiatry from Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, USA. He then proceeded to complete MD-PhD in Neuroscience from Switzerland (simultaneous PhD degrees awarded by UZH/ETH International Program in Neuroscience and UZH MD-PhD program). Dr. Jawaid has worked extensively in the fields of epigenetics and neuropsychiatric disorders. He has authored 75+ pubmed publications including peer-reviewed articles in Nature Neuroscience, Neuron, Nature Human Behavior, Nature Communications, Trends in Genetics, EMBO Journal and Molecular Neurodegeneration, and opinion pieces in Science and Nature. His current H-index is 27. Outside of work, he is a fiction author, poet, and virtual reality-enthusiast. Dr. Jawaid currently heads the Laboratory for Translational Research in Neuropsychiatric Disorders (TREND lab) at the BRAINCITY: Center of Excellence for Neural Plasticity and Brain Disorders, Nencki Institute of Experimental Biology, Warsaw, Poland. TREND lab is focused on dissecting the liaison between non-coding RNAs and metabolic factors in the long-term sequelae of early life trauma; and investigate how metabolism can be manipulated to counter its neuropsychiatric manifestations across generations.

Juvenes Pro Medicina Conference

The JPM Conference for Students and Young Doctors brings together more than 300 active participants annually. The 2019 edition of JPM is about to be its 57th Polish edition and 15th since JPM opened up to international participants. It will take place at the Didactic Center of the Medical University of Lodz, which boasts one of the most modern conference centers in Poland. Our scientific programme includes lectures of keynote speakers, 27 student sessions and numerous workshops, during which you will master medical skills and broaden your scientific network.
