Poland among Europe’s top investment destinations: report

Poland ranked third in Europe in terms of the total value of foreign direct investment projects launched in 2017, after the UK and Russia, according to fDi Markets, a crossborder investment analysis department from the Financial Times.

The influx of foreign direct investment totalled USD 14.8 billion in Poland, growing 49 percent compared to 2016.
The UK came first in the ranking, with foreign direct investment projects launched in 2017 totalling USD 33.2 bn, followed by Russia, with USD 15.9 bn.
New foreign direct investment projects generated 87,000 new jobs in Poland.

The Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Stockholm has the pleasure to invite you to the second Polish-Swedish Business Gala followed by Ceremony of Mercurius Awards. The Gala will summarize the achievements of the year 2017 and center on the Polish-Swedish economic cooperation. It will also create an opportunity for exchanging experiences on successful business cooperation models.

It is the second time that we grant Mercurius awards – a token of our appreciation for entrepreneurs who act as the outstanding Ambassadors of the Polish economy to Sweden. This year`s Mercurius award will be given to LOT Polish Airlines and construction company Unibep S.A.

The Swedish company Thule Group will start production in Piła!

In the first quarter of 2018, production at the new factory of the Swedish company Thule Group will start. According to the Business Zone, the Swedes were tempted by the economic zone. Negotiations regarding the opening of the factory lasted for several months.

At the beginning, the company provides 100 new jobs, while with the development of the company and depending on demand, the company plans to hire more employees, as said by Jeroen Bronnenberg, manager of the Thule Group. In the new factory, not only production workers, but also accountants or managers will be employed.
