Dom jutra: Rozmowy na trudne czasy to nowy format spotkań zainaugurowany wczoraj w MDSM / IJBS International Youth Meeting Centre in Oświęcim przez kierownika edukacji dr Jerzy Wójcik.

Pierwsze spotkanie odbyło się wokół filmu " Strefa Interesów" J.Glazera a zaproszonym gościem był dyrektor Auschwitz Memorial / Muzeum Auschwitz dr Piotr Cywiński.

Dyskusja przeszła od kulis powstania filmu i warsztatu reżysera aż do wspołczesnych stref interesów i murów obojętności odcinających nas od odpowiedzialności za historię , pamięć i teraźniejszość.

80th anniversary of October 7 Sonderkommando revolt in Birkenau .

On October 7, 1944, having learned that the SS was going to liquidate much of the squad, the members of the Sonderkommando at Crematorium IV in Auschwitz - Birkenau death camp rose in revolt. The Germans crushed the revolt. Nearly 250 prisoners died during the fighting and guards shot another 200 after the mutiny was suppressed.

Several days later, the SS identified four Jewish female prisoners who had been involved in supplying explosives to blow up the crematorium. All four women were executed.
