📣 Designed as an ‘ideal city’ - The perfect working-class city 💪

🚋 Go by tram from the city centre to the Plac Centralny (Central Square) and walk among monumental buildings to admire the place where time stopped many years ago; visit the ideal communist city, the original gift of Josef Stalin for our country.

👀Almost everything in this neighbourhood feels like a piece of the 1950s, when the district was created around a big steel factory, given to Poland by Stalin, the "friend of the Polish nation."

👉 You will see many fully equipped housing units for factory workers, bunkers made to protect citizens against an American atom attack, old tank and restaurants (which are worth still serving vodka with herrings or vegetable salad). The only thing missing is the huge monument of Lenin, once visible at the main avenue but removed after the end of the Communist regime.

1️⃣ Sharing the wafer: Before starting eating, we share the wafer (in polish „opłatek”) and wish each other all the best.

2️⃣ Christmas Eve: For us, the most important day is Christmas Eve (December 24th). On this day, families gather to eat a traditional Christmas dinner, which starts exactly after the first star is seen in the sky ⭐️

3️⃣ 12 dishes: Traditionally, there are 12 dishes served over Christmas Eve, symbolising the 12 apostles as well as the 12 months of the year. It’s said that you should ensure you eat at least a little bit of everything so that you’ll be blessed with prosperity in the new year✨️✨️✨️

📣 If you’ve ever eaten pierogi, chances are fairly good that you fell in love at a very first bite – and we wouldn’t blame you ❤️ Pierogi are pierogi – there is no better world for this famous Polish dish, although some people try to translate the name as Polish dumplings, Polish raviolis or even small empanadas – none of which are accurate. For us, it is a national dish – something unique and integral to our culture.
