We've written about the Polish mountains 🏔️ with the town of Zakopane before, but it's hard not to add a few words after our recent visit. A place totally worth a separate vacation – nowhere relaxes like here 🛶. The climate is unforgettable and quite different from what you can see anywhere else 🌲, as evidenced by the huge increase in popularity among foreign tourists in recent years 🌍 – we wondered if there weren't more of them than people of our nationality!

Our visit, however, was less commercial. We explored the most beautiful trails of the Tatra National Park 🌄, spent a few blissful days in one of the mountain spas 💆 (of which there are plenty!), and we also took a look at neighboring Slovakia 🇸🇰, with which we share the High Tatras.

During this visit, we came up with an idea 💡 – we would love to show those interested our mountains from the inside! We only warn you that such a trip to the trails requires proper preparation 🎒 and clothing 👟, and the attraction itself often demands physical effort 💪. If interested, please contact us 🙂.

SUMMARY OF A TRIP TO WARSAW 🇵🇱

What does Warsaw offer?

First of all, a MASS of history 📜 about World War II from the perspective of the citizens of our country. The enormity of losses, suffering, destruction, and death. We know this doesn't sound like an encouraging introduction, but it’s the chapter you'll mainly explore when visiting the city for educational purposes.

You'll also notice that today's Warsaw is very different from, for example, well-preserved Kraków 🏰, as the capital was almost completely destroyed 💥, making it not uncommon to see a historic villa 🏡 next to modern office buildings 🏢. Several conclusions can be drawn – the city looks different than it would have, and the world is moving forward 🌍.

This doesn't mean that Warsaw lacks breathtaking architecture 🏛️ – we've included some photos below 📸. As for particularly noteworthy spots, we recommend visiting the POLIN Museum of Polish Jews 🕍, the Copernicus Science Center 🔬, or the Museum of the Palace of King John III in Wilanów 🏰.

Warsaw's "Pawiak" prison was established in 1835 as a Tsarist jail, but it gained its infamous reputation during World War II. It became a place of mass repression for Poles—mainly members of the resistance and Polish intelligentsia. Today, a museum of the same name stands in its place, vividly portraying the heartbreaking experiences of the prisoners. The outdoor exhibition also touches on the history of Kraków during the years 1939-1945, encouraging visitors to explore the fate of prisoners in the N**i prison on Pomorska Street. The "Pawiak" exhibition also reminds us of how Warsaw could have looked if it hadn’t been leveled to the ground in 1944, as depicted in photographs of the prison's surroundings after the bombing.

In terms of its setup, we can confidently compare this museum to Kraków’s Oskar Schindler Museum—while it may not carry the same emotional weight, it still provides a wealth of information about the Jewish community in Poland. The exhibition is dedicated to the history of Polish Jews, from their very beginnings in our country to modern times.

We refreshed our knowledge on the subject and even discovered new aspects of Jewish life, which we’ll definitely share with you during our tours. 🌍🔍 In the coming days, we’ll dive into the history of Warsaw during World War II, summarize that period, and explain clearly why (unfortunately) we can’t admire the city today as it was in the 1930s, when it was called the "Paris of the North." 🌆🕰️

📅 Yesterday, we shared the results of our July work, during which we organized a total of 3 tours in the Kazimierz district and Krakow. We hope our guests from the United States and England were satisfied. Thank you for your feedback!

📚 Some time ago, we started preparing a guide to Krakow for you, which will not only point out the most interesting tourist locations like museums, theaters, restaurants with regional delicacies, or entertainment venues - it will also include lesser-known places in Krakow that only locals know about - viewpoints, football pubs, karaoke clubs, concert halls, places for outdoor barbecues, or nightclubs, including those with heavier music.
