Have you heard the story behind the abruptly ending trumpet call played from St. Mary's Basilica? 🎺 According to legend, in the 13th century, as Tatar invaders approached Krakow, a vigilant watchman atop the church's tower began playing the trumpet to alert the townspeople. Tragically, an enemy arrow struck him mid-melody, causing the tune to stop suddenly. To honor his bravery, the trumpet call is still played every hour and always breaks off at the same point, commemorating the hero who saved Krakow.
