Invitation to attend the
SERVICE DESIGN WINTER SCHOOL in Pristina, Kosovo.
We are assembling a team to fly to Kosovo for a week-long service design workshop named Service Design Winter School 2023. CDV students from all majors are invited. The trip's supervisor and participant is Dr. Marcin Chlodnicki. The trip is financed by the Erasmus program. The date of the trip is November 12-17, 2023. Deadline for enrollment October 14, 2023.
What is Service Design Winter School?
Service Design Winter School is an annual event where international teams of students struggle for 5 days, under the guidance of experts, with a challenge set for them by a renowned brand, company or organization. Service Design Winter School is organized for the seventh time, always in the third week of November. Each year it is held in a different European city (Antwerp 2016, Ljubljana 2017, Kaunas 2018, Lier 2019, Antwerp 2020, Poznan 2021, Lier 2022).
The event is attended by students from Belgium, the Netherlands, Slovenia, Latvia, Finland, Germany and Poland. The students are accompanied by tutors - lecturers. Students work in mixed international teams on a given problem according to a specific schedule. The process, also known as a design sprint, begins on Monday with a presentation by a representative of an organization that needs a solution to its problem. In the following hours and days, the students go (under the supervision of an international team of trainers) through the stages of the Service Design Thinking process, to conclude - on Friday - with a presentation of a prototype of their solutions to the client, along with the rationale for their design. The client, together with a jury, selects the best design and symbolically awards it.
