Modernization & Expansion of Tourist Infrastructure in the Baltic Sea Resort Ahrenshoop First Prize in the Architectural Competition.

A new town center is being developed in the heart of the Baltic Sea resort Ahrenshoop. It combines in a complex building design the tourist information center, spa administration, and library, along with an event hall, guesthouse, and outdoor facilities offering various event opportunities. The building ensemble, with a full underground parking garage in the immediate dune area, combines local architectural language with efficient cost-effectiveness.

Honorable Mention in the Competition for the Westerplatte and 1939 War Museum.

The concept of the Open-Air Museum is based on showcasing the layers of Westerplatte's history: the times of the seaside resort, the Military Transit Depot, elements related to the defense in 1939, and the transformations from the 1960s. The concept of the Open-Air Museum adds another narrative to the history of the site, one that emerges from contemporary times—the museum pavilion, whose purpose is to protect and make the fragile remnants of the past accessible to a wider audience. The external manifestation of the museum building is a sculptural, concrete form—a gesture—whose rawness reflects the character of the place. From a distance, it appears as an inaccessible monolith, but up close, it reveals various concrete textures, and the differences in planes—the offsets, overhangs of the external walls—allow glimpses into its interior. These design choices maintain a clear expression of the form from afar as an element flanking the square, a counterpoint to the Monument, but also as an object that, up close, conceals further elements of the story of Westerplatte.

Almost a year ago, the expert jury chaired by Ferdinand Heide awarded two first prizes for the urban planning competition aimed at redesigning the high-rise on Witzelstraße in Düsseldorf Bilk—one of which went to Sop Architekten . The realization competition, organized by the project developer in cooperation with the city of , aims to create an office high-rise that meets both climatic and real estate challenges while also serving as a new architectural landmark at this prominent urban intersection in southern Düsseldorf.
