GENERAL DIRECTOR
The Client:
An organization representing leading producers of crop protection products. For over 20 years, they have been educating about the safe use of crop protection products and their importance in food production.
Position Overview:
The General Director is a high-profile position, responsible for interacting with a wide range of stakeholders. These include associate members (such as multinational corporations), national and EU policy makers, regulatory authorities, scientists, the media, and other industry associations. The General Director will be tasked with coordinating and delivering effective networking, as well as providing efficient support to all involved parties.The successful Candidate will be expected to:
• Engage with decision-makers at the highest political levels and represent the interestsof the industry.
• Act as a spokesperson when required, engaging with local, national, and specialist media, as well as at external events.
• Develop materials to support industry advocacy on behalf of members.
• Involve companies and country associations in lobbying activities.
• Take overall responsibility for strategic planning and ensure its effective implementation.
• Monitor key issues, keeping members informed about relevant legislation and guidelines while providing expert advice.
• Advise the Board on critical strategic matters.
• Coordinate both internal and external stakeholders.
• Ensure full statutory and regulatory compliance to support the association’s functions.
• Manage the day-to-day affairs of the association, including office operations, budget oversight, and the ex*****on of established goals and objectives.
• Organize and schedule General Assembly, Audit Committee, Board meetings and working groups meetings.
• Represent Organization at CropLife Europe.
Qualifications and Experience:
• A senior executive with substantial experience in the sector or related fields.
• Familiarity with the European pesticide regulatory system, though expert knowledge is not required. Prior experience in public affairs, regulatory affairs, project management, or general administration is highly valued.
• Likely holds a graduate or postgraduate degree in Agriculture/Science, Business, Legal or Economic studies.
• Strong contributions are expected in management, coordination, networking, advocacy, and stakeholder relations.
• Fluency in English is required.

• Flexible and able to handle ambiguity effectively.
• Strong commitment to maintaining confidentiality.
• Willingness to travel at least 10% of the time.
