Uncovering the Polish Carpathians!

Sharing some fascinating finds from my week-long private guided trip in Bieszczady region!

That's the Wooden Greek Catholic (now Roman Catholic) church in Rownia, near Ustrzyki Dolne in Poland. Built by Lemko craftsmen in 1750, the wooden Orthodox church in Równia is a stunning example of Eastern Carpathian architecture. With snow, it looks even more enchanting.

From the viewing tower overlooking Solina Dam, Bieszczady Region, Poland

Solina is the tallest dam in Poland at 82m height. It took approx 8 years to build it, and was officially inaugurated in 1968. The project created the largest artificial lake in Poland. Lake Solina is a key hydroelectric power source and major tourist attraction in Bieszczady.
