New Trends in Tourism 2025, Gdańsk

Gdańsk always feels like an outpouring of fresh breeze served straight from the Baltic Sea. 🌊

This past weekend, that breeze carried some of the boldest ideas in tourism at the New Trends in Tourism 2025 conference. After all, the capital of Pomerania is among the torchbearers of Poland tourism.

Set inside the enormous 100cznia venue, the networking evening presented the class and state-of-the-art technology of the legendary European Solidarity Centre.

A historical landmark that led to the collapse of communism in Poland, turned into a world-class museum and an excellent venue for hosting high-profile global-scale events.

Packed with thought-provoking topics, this conference had it all! From Polish gastronomy taking center stage (Gdańsk is now the European Capital of Gastronomic Culture, March 2024–March 2026 🥂) to sustainability, accessibility, and social media’s grip on hospitality, every session delivered to the max.

For me, the real showstoppers were the marketing campaigns that dared to break the norm. Go Vilnius’ “Expectations vs. Reality” and Oslo’s “Halfdan’s Summer” showed how humor, creativity, and guts can make a campaign go viral.

Is Poland ready for such a hard-hitting yet quirky campaign? 🤔

Hats off to the Gdansk Convention Bureau, Visit Gdansk, Polish Tourism Organisation, Poland Convention Bureau for organizing such a stellar event and inviting me! 🙌
