Hello, Casa Ladera friends and family!
I wanted to give everyone an update six months after Hurricane Maria. In a nutshell, it's all good! Casa Ladera sustained limited damage, all of which was quickly repaired, and the property looks better than ever. In fact, we've totally renovated the downstairs bathroom and upgraded some of the furniture and appliances as part of an overall refresh.
We've been lucky enough to have the National Guard staying at Casa Ladera as they continue helping the island get back on its feet. It's pretty cool to see the big Hummers in the driveway, and I know the guys are enjoying the pool and our other amenities between work shifts :)
Electricity is gradually coming back in Vieques street by street. At Casa Ladera it's mostly back, but sometimes touch and go. We're looking into installing solar power throughout the property so we don't have to depend on the grid; stay tuned for an update on that.
Because the National Guard is staying with us, we're only taking bookings starting in mid-June 2018, which is when they'll be leaving. Please contact us at [email protected] if you're interested in booking a stay, or are looking for any other updates.
And a tremendous THANK YOU to all who've reached out over the past few months with concern, thoughts and love; It's been incredible to hear from everyone who's become part of our extended Vieques family, and we love you all!
We hope to see you again soon at Casa Ladera in Vieques.
Warm wishes,
Jen, Lauren, Renee & Nenad
