Parliament finally approves end of motorcycle inspection bill and a recommendation to the Government to reduce the Single Traffic Tax (IUC) on Motorcycles

Parliament has today approved, in a final global vote, diplomas originating from the PSD that remove from the law compulsory inspection for motorcycles and universalize the access of these vehicles to BUS lanes.

The final text presented by the Commission for Economy, Public Works and Housing amends the Regime for Technical Inspections of Vehicles and eliminates the obligation provided for in a law decree of 2012 to subject the inspection of "motorcycles, tricycles and ATVs with cylinders exceeding 250 cm3, as well as trailers and semitrailers weighing more than 750 kg ", which never came into force due to being dependent on a doorkeeper, subsequently postponed.
This diploma which removes motorcycle inspection from the law was passed in a global final vote only with abstention from Free.

Already the final text that changes the Road Code to universalize motorcycle access to BUS lanes - which currently depends on each City Council - has been approved with abstention from IL.

In a final overall vote, final texts were still approved unanimously based on resolutions of the PSD (without force of law) recommending the Government to reduce the Single Traffic Tax (IUC) for motorcycles, the creation of a class of its own carriages for these vehicles or the implementation of the Safety measures such as eliminating drifting materials on the expansion joints on roads, creating custom vertical signage for motorcyclists (e.g. alerting them to the presence of lanes) and eliminating wheelbarrows and roadside separators, considered "lethal weapons for motorcyclist".
