It's nearly that time of year......No.....not that Xmas thingy majiggy.......Dakar time. As always I'll be staying awake till 2 in the morning to fall asleep in front of the Euro Sport channel just as the 30 second coverage of the bike racing begins. FFS.

Now this year I'll once again be cheering for the "outliers" and once again I'll be keeping an eye on KOVE. So not only is Mason Klein back on KOVE, really surprised, thought he was going to be riding Honda but he'll be Kove's number 1 rider. Added to which, I know someone who runs a Rally Team and this year he has a famous Racer and Dakar finisher James Hillier and he'll also be on the Kove.
Good luck for them all.
As for the other thingy.... Merry Christmas folks....stay well and healthy and ride safe
I've a few things in the pipe line, including needing to get an Enduro bike sorted out.

Super excited to see this...not that I can afford one and as I'm looking for a 2T it's less of a dilemma..lol...never enough bikes !!! I just wonder ? With the unfolding/collapse ?? of KTM....could these guy's sneak in and capitalise ? Timing is epic.

ENDURO TOURS DATES

Experienced riders only. Expect some hills, some hills and some hills with a few river beds thrown in and a few hills. 2 Days.
January 3rd and 4th 2025 !!!!!
Meeting time 1000 hrs. Join in on your own bike. More details to follow. 40€ each rider. Back up vehicle with trailer provided.
No lunch included. New areas that have not been ridden by yours truly. Adventerous Enduro souls only. Must be experienced and must be happy to try out completely new un-tested areas.

We already have 1 sign up on his new KTM TDi 2025...oooh fancy pants.

Busy few days for me. Home alone with the kids 😅 hence the proposed dates for the experienced Enduro Tour in early January hasn't been confirmed yet. Hopefully tomorrow.

Been on a training academy morning with my youngest today. It's a wonderful experience to share your hobby/passion with your offspring.

I'm most definitely not the richest man but I'm sure one of the wealthiest. 🤩

Here's a recap of the Christmas Big Bike Tour we did on Sunday.
If you want to ride this beautiful terrain get in touch.
Plenty of adventure and some spills which makes it the exciting reason we ride offroad. Really great to see a group of strangers working together to help each other out. Teamwork made the Dreamwork.

Onwards and upwards....some Enduro guiding to do over Christmas but the bike I was interested in....the seller has ghosted me. Now looking for other possible rides.

Just a quick one from me today. Every Year I try to do something for the local community in some broad sense. Give back and to let everyone know that Dirtbikes are not all bad as we seem to be labelled by a lot of society at large. I have to say in Portugal, dirtbikers are genreally really welcomed by everyone I meet except the foreigners living here !!! That's my experience anyway.

Right OK...besides that...I have teamed up with Steve Holcombe...yes that Steve....The World Enduro FIM Champion. He's donating one of his race jackets. It will be raffled via my FB page and the money will go to support the Junior Fire Fighters Branch of the BVA - Bombeiros Voluntarios de Aljezur.

Just a headsup...keep your eyes peeled in January and please share when the raffle is on.

OK some news I've been wanting to write for a while now. In January I'm partnering with a chap and we'll be scouting a SUPPORTED 2 (maybe 3) days ride from the Algarve into Alentejo.

We're scouting the route early January and hope to run it around April/May time.

Supported means you can drop your gear in the land rover and ride light.

Hotel's will be good quality where we can enjoy the surroundings and explore the local area.

So much more info will become available in January but please keep an eye out and mention it to friends who want a proper ADV ride.

It's just an early heads up to let you know that 2025 will be an ADV kind of year for sure.

We're about 10 people for the ride on Sunday which I'm really happy about. Although I have a route, I'm very happy to stop and shoot some film in a few different places if anyone wants to try any hills or challenges we spot on the way. Happy to have some fun on the way round.
My hope is we all help one another if we drop the bikes, struggle on anything, which is very unlikely as it has been made to be a straightforward ride but pretty ride.
70% offroad gravel tracks and a few bits of sand with about 30% road. It is a ride for cameradery, to cross barriers and to meet new people that reside in the Algarve and who love riding motorbikes.

Check out this vid. Got some nice footage and plenty of info. I think the lightweight ADV sector is going to become exciting in the next few years. KTM 390 ADV, BMW 450, MT450, Drz450 ? Kove 450, anything else ? This vid is middleweight however.

Just a couple of topics tonight.
1. The very sad news earlier this week regarding Malcolm Smith. never met him, only ever seen him on screen of one description or another. I know people that have met him and all said he was such a gentleman. Incredible rider, outstanding really and a gentleman. Seems to be qualities in a person that I would migrate towards. In his honour, I'll be watching On any Sunday this week sometime.
