For all you beach bunnies out there ...

“INFO PRAIA” APP - QUICK AND UPDATED INFORMATION ABOUT THE MAINLAND BEACHES.

About each beach - you can see the annual classification of bathing water, the existence of the Blue Flag and Accessible Beach awards, the existence of maintenance works, the risk of erosion of the cliffs and the existing services - restaurants, toilet support, lifeguard, etc.

You can search by occupancy level, by the name of the beach, look for beaches close to the location where you are, using the option “near me”, choose the county, etc. For the search result it is yet possible to get “directions” to get there.

It can be downloaded for free via “Google Play” and “App Store”.
Both have access to the images of the existing beachcam on site, for the beaches that provide this service.

Be careful in the hot weather

HIGH TEMPERATURES - HEALTH ADVICE

Today will be a very hot day especially inland northern and central areas, were maximum temperatures can reach values around and above 40° C. HIGH TEMPERATURES RED WARNING for the districts of Bragança, Guarda and Vila Real.

We reaffirm the importance of:
💧 Increase water intake, at least 1.5litres/day equivalent to 8 glasses;
⛱ apply sunscreen with a factor higher than 30, every 2 hours;
🧢🧢 wearing a hat and clothes that are light, wide and cool;
🥦 🍊 opt for light and fresh meals;

• Pay special attention to people most vulnerable to heat, such as children, the elderly (especially living alone and isolated), chronically ill people, pregnant women, people with reduced mobility, workers working outdoors;
• Chronic patients or those subject to medication and/or specific diets must follow the recommendations of the attending physician in case of needing assistance contact the SNS 24: 808 24 24 24;
• Ensure that children increase their intake of water, sugar-free gelatin or sugar-free natural fruit juices and that they remain in a cool, airy environment.

🌊 𝗠𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗮 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗶𝗰̧𝗮̃𝗼: 𝗙𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮 𝗱𝗼 𝗕𝗮𝗻𝗵𝗼 𝟮𝟵 𝗲𝗺 𝗟𝗮𝗴𝗼𝘀 𝗲 𝗻𝗮 𝗣𝗿𝗮𝗶𝗮 𝗱𝗮 𝗟𝘂𝘇 🌙

Uma das mais queridas tradições de Lagos e do Algarve chega já no próximo dia 29 de agosto com uma grande festa que irá decorrer simultaneamente na cidade de Lagos e na Praia da Luz, com destaque para os espetáculos de Blasted Mechanism e Marten Hørger nesse local.

Em Lagos, o Centro de Estudos de Lagos levará o público através de uma viagem no tempo com uma recriação histórica ao longo da Avenida dos Descobrimentos e Praia da Batata. Ao final da tarde, a festa começa logo às 18h no Cais da Solaria e Jardim da Constituição (colaboração do Moto Clube de Lagos e Associação dos Artesãos do Barlavento), com aula de zumba (Ana Leal), animação circulante (Nuno & Companhia), atuação de Ricardo Pires Quarteto (Orquestra de Jazz do Algarve) e DJ André Salgueiro.

Logo a partir das 20h30, e com a colaboração da ACRAL, regressam os concursos de trajes de banho tradicional, seja na vertente “Tradição e Comunidade” ou “Moda e Inovação. O popular Humberto Silva estará responsável por “animar a malta” às 22h30, ficando a meia-noite reservada para o tão esperado e revigorante banho noturno acompanhado por fogo-de-artifício. Os 5ex Band atuam pela noite dentro para que a animação não pare.

Na Praia da Luz, o Clube Recreativo Cultural e Desportivo Luzense preparou um alinhamento imperdível com três palcos com música para todos os gostos: DJ G-Rod, TobyONE 7”Vinyl Set, La Plante Mutante e DJ Nuno Silva no Palco Sunset (Fortaleza); Carlos Azevedo, Fábio Muchacho, Emanuel & Tânia no Palco Tradicional (Areal) e Kooyah Sound, Naomi & The Raposeira Dub Collective, DJ Patife e Blasted Mechanism e Marten Hørger no Palco Praia (Rocha Negra) numa noite que se adivinha inesquecível.

Great feedback from our guest Sarah who stayed in this lovely 2-bedroom apartment with shared pool - located in a quiet residential area just a few minutes from some of the best beaches in Lagos.

'We are a family of 4 and stayed at the apartment for 10 nights. Host communication was great and we were let personally at the apartment and shown how to use everything and access the pool etc. Accommodation is fairly new and very modern. Had everything you needed, exceptionally clean. Two bathrooms, fully equipped kitchen. In a nice peaceful location but only a 15min walk into town. We had a car and explored nearby areas. I would definitely recommend and would stay again without hesitation.'

Wonderful feedback from our guest Chris who stayed in this stunning 4-bedroom villa with private pool - located in a quiet residential area just a few minutes from some of the best beaches in Lagos.

'This house was amazing! The furniture and decor was top of the range. Every room had a wee private nook. The pool was fantastic and hosted very competitive water polo games between family members. We particularly valued the location as we could easily walk to three beautiful beaches and the town centre. It was expensive but a once in a lifetime experience for our extended family.'
