Day Trip from Lisbon: Sintra & Cascais 🌊🏰
We love to recommend tour guides with whom travelers of this group have had a great experience. Today we'd like to suggest day trip to Sintra - Cascais!
𝗧𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗢𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄: 🗺️ The pick-up is scheduled for 08:00 AM at your hotel or another pre-arranged location.
Begin the journey towards Sintra, a UNESCO world heritage site since 1995 under the category " Cultural Landscape", stopping first at the magnificent Pena Palace, a 19th-century gem and a pinnacle of Portuguese Romanticism. Spend around an hour exploring this splendid palace.
Continue the tour, taking in the scenic views of the Sintra mountains, its charming chalets, palaces, and the quaint historic center.
Next, head to Quinta da Regaleira, an early 20th-century estate steeped in symbolism and mystique, featuring unique caves and the enigmatic Initiation Well. Alternatively, explore the Monserrate Palace, a beautiful hidden gem known for its diverse botanical garden and stunning 19th-century oriental-style palace inspired to Islamic architecture with Moorish and Arabic suggestions . Each visit lasts about an hour.
Pause for lunch for an hour.
Showcase some of the area's beautiful beaches, such as Azenhas do Mar viewpoint, Praia das Maçãs, Praia da Adraga, or Praia da Aguda, depending on the unique and customizable tour.
Stop at Cabo da Roca, the westernmost point of Europe, offering a breathtaking lookout over the Atlantic Ocean. This stop lasts about 15-20 minutes.
Head towards the town of Cascais, driving along the coast and passing by Guincho Beach and Boca do Inferno. Upon reaching the center, stop at the Citadel (Fort of Cascais) for about 30 minutes to enjoy a beautiful view of the bay and the coastal area known as the Portuguese Riviera.
The drop-off is at 17:00 PM, back at your hotel or another chosen location.
