An earthquake followed by a tsunami and a huge fire in the 18th century wasn’t enough to tear down the city, even though they were highly destructive. In fact, most of downtown was renovated to become the enigmatic postcard you can visit nowadays, with its very well-organized streets and eight catching facades.
