The story of The Lisboans begins right in Lisbon's historic centre, when we discovered a rundown building that had once seen a lot of action, since it was a factory of canned and preserved goods. The building was now part of a kind of derelict cityscape that noone ever notices except the former neighbours who witnessed both the rise and fall of the factory. We were lucky enough to see it with diff
erent eyes and it was a match at first sight. As usual, one story's end is another story's beginning, and so it was with The Lisboans. In 2016, the building was completely refurbished, with the façade keeping its original architectural simplicity and it is now housing 15 boutique serviced apartments, also known as The Lisboans. The Lisboans is a little piece of heaven, with all the amenities of a 5-star hotel, including an elegant but way cosier atmosphere. All apartments have the original finishes, high ceilings and unique floor-to-ceiling windows, with a just as wide and even more amazing view of the surrounding neighbourhood, from the public churches and trams to the very private clothes lines of the senior couples from the opposite building. All units (or homes, to be fair) showcase their own exclusive interior design, featuring both vintage and contemporary custom-made furniture, handmade tiles based on our own designs, inspired by typical geometrical motives but with a modern flair. We also personally hand-picked antiques from shops all over the country, and even the textiles are hand-woven by Portuguese artisans. The result is a kind of fusion that creates a stylish, distinctive and surely unique atmosphere. The Lisboans location is in a residential street, very close to the busiest downtown streets, but removed just enough to guarantee a villagelike quiet. Being very central, it's right across the Lisbon Cathedral, which is right in the heart of the city centre. The Lisboans is in walking distance of most cultural landmarks, trendy dining spots and shopping attractions. So don't hesitate: drop us a line, come over for a visit. We'll be happy to have you stay with us. With our hospitality and your smile, we're sure we can speak your language.

At The Lisboans, hospitality is the key that opens all doors.
Open doors for smiles, stories, and new friendships. May everyone who enters leave with a lighter heart and filled with good memories.
The hands of The Lisboans staff each day, they carry out countless tasks that keep the hotel running smoothly, ensuring that guests experience comfort and at every turn. These hands, skilled and attentive, make beds with precision, ensuring that every sheet is crisp and every pillow perfectly fluffed, cleaning rooms to immaculate standards, or setting up elegant banquets, these hands are constantly at work, driven by a commitment to service.
The hands of The Lisboans staff are more than just tools for physical labor; they embody the spirit of hospitality. They are gentle when tending to the needs of a weary traveler, swift when responding to urgent requests, and creative when arranging a bouquet. Each task, no matter how small, is performed with a dedication to making every guest feel valued and at home. In the rhythm of their daily work, these hands tell a story of care that defines the guest experience.

Being very central, it's two minutes away from the Lisbon Cathedral, which is in the heart of the city centre.
Besides hosting The Lisboans Apartment Hotel, the building that used to be a candy factory remains connected to food: Prado, our farm-to-table restaurant, opened in late 2017, and our traditional grocery store with the same name, opened soon after, in 2018.
Looking back at how the building was when we found it, with old and rusty machinery covered with vegetation, it's like its existence has now come full circle.
But don't take our word for it. Come see for yourself.
