The academy sail principle was born in its natural habit: the sea. Back from the Minitransat oceanic crossing and half round the

world trip in double at the global ocean race an idea popped up in the solo navigator Sergio Frattaruolo’s mind…a training centre comparable to the Cem de la grande motte, in France. A meeting point for teaching, enhancing and practicing the off shore sailing top level an Italian site where to experience life at sea safely and develop skills sustained by experts and professional athletes in the field. In the 2012 Calaluna meeting an amazing newly restored Class 40 retrieved in a field a few Kilometers off Lisbona made the glorious dream come true: to take part in the most important international regattas on board of a real yacht equipped with state of art technologies. After a long wait comes the perfect weave to ride towards a new goal: spread the knowledge and the emotions that only the sea is able to offer. Still an experimental project created to share the passion for sail ad ocean but most of all to make available techniques and emotions to anyone, from experts willing to put the final touch to green sailors looking for inspirations and taking the first steps into the sailing world. In just a few months Extreme Sail Academy offered their guests the chance to live some Mediterranean Regattas such as: The Roma-Giraglia, The Palermo-Montecarlo, The Monaco-portofino and The Middle Sea Race to the more challenging experiences on Extreme MED on la Spezia route, Malta, La Spezia – Palermo and Malt – Palermo, a steady search to the real sailing essence.
