NomadX started with the desire to help others easily and affordably experience the slow-travel Digital Nomad lifestyle whether for a month or a lifetime in amazing locations throughout the world, with a start in Portugal.
Prior to founding NomadX in 2017, Dave and Jen Williams spent years traveling the world where they saw an opportunity to improve upon the ease of finding affordable, midterm housing and immediate connection to the local community for slow traveling freelancers, location independent entrepreneurs, and remote employees.
They also wanted to help global workers experience a new way to travel, live and work throughout the world. This is when NomadX was born.
At Web Summit 2019, NomadX made a strategic move by acquiring partner company HomelessNHappy, a company created by digital nomads (and fiancés) Oli Nold and Lisa Orth. The acquisition sets the foundation to expand NomadX’s lifestyle community and affordable housing platform to Bali in early 2020, in addition to adding educational programs.
We are a value-driven company. This is why it’s NomadX’s mission, as a Public Benefit Corporation, to promote friendliness, cultural understanding, and social interaction between Digital Nomads and the local communities in which they live and work.
NomadX was created for location independent professionals by a remote team of digital nomads with its global headquarters at Startup Lisboa. Here are the company leaders who make it all happen.
Dave and Jen Williams
Co-Founders, Investors, and Global Leaders
Dave leads the company as its Chairman and CEO, and is a pioneer in the digital marketing, advertising, and ad tech industries as a serial digital entrepreneur over the past 20+ years. He has also experienced multiple exits in the early formative stages of the search engine marketing, social media, and ad tech industries with prior company headquarters in Atlanta, Georgia, and New York City.
After visiting over 50 countries in their global travels, Dave and his wife, Jen (the company’s Chief Fun Officer), and their dog, Manu, now reside in Lisbon, Portugal and the Northern Algarve, where they are learning to surf and using as a base for their European travels.
Oli Nold and Lisa Orth
Co-Founders, Global Community, Education and Operational Leaders
Oli and Lisa were co-founders of HomelessNHappy, a company that helps digital nomads live their best lives, personally and professionally with industry leading backgrounds in organic social media growth hacking, conversion funnels and online education and coaching programs. They first met on their travels in Vietnam as digital nomads and then founded HomelessNHappy in 2017.
Oli and Lisa first met the founders of NomadX at the 2018 DNX conference in Lisbon where they hit it off and then were invited as Entrepreneurs in Residence in Lisbon with NomadX in July 2019. Following their experience in Lisbon, they partnered with NomadX to run the social community for three months leading up to the acquisition.
Oli is a global entrepreneur from Switzerland having launched several brands and startups, and has a huge personality and background in online community building, direct sales and organic marketing. As NomadX’s Global Operational Leader, Oli is the face for the global community brand and runs the NomadX business operating units for affordable housing, global community, and its educational programs for digital nomads.
Lisa is also a global entrepreneur from Germany with a background in real estate, coaching and social media. She’s now responsible for overseeing NomadX organic social media and online educational programs.
They live in Bali and will be helping to lead NomadX’s global expansion. We couldn’t be more excited.
