Fully adapted, accessible 4 bedroom villa for the disabled & their families. Villa Luz do Sol is situated in Vale Formoso “Beautiful Valley“, in the hills above Almancil, south of Loulé, Central Algarve. It has a private and peaceful location, green and verdant garden with an abundance of bird life and a large pool with
a battery operated pool lift overl

ooking the panoramic sea views. Ideal for family holidays suited for families of all ages, elderly and wheelchair users, baby’s, and teenagers, the villa is unique in being so close to amenities and beaches yet having rural appeal usually only found far inland. The villa has been adapted for families with a member in a wheelchair. The villa is spacious and light with ramps where needed to be able to access the whole villa and garden/pool area. Adapted double bedroom, en-suite level access shower room, grab rails, shower/commode chairs, shower trolley, and hoist. Outside a BBQ area large dinning table and chairs, large covered terraces planted with beautiful purple Bougainvillea provide welcome shade during the hotter months for alfresco dining. There is also a pathway through the grass to the pool and pool lift. Included in the villa rental a complementary use of one of our WAV´s. We also include airport transfers from Faro airport to the villa and return which is a large WAV. Any mobility equipment that is not kept at the villa can be hired from a local mobility firm. I can only recommend Caroline's extraordinary villa a hundredfold, EVERYTHING, STRICTLY EVERYTHING has been designed to accommodate people with severe disabilities, the rooms are very large, the spaces are very pleasant both for working and for staying (the villa is very beautiful), 3 very beautiful bedrooms and one smaller, ramps, a perfectly designed PMR bathroom, a huge kitchen where everything works perfectly. Medical bed, lift, shower chair, everything is present, in excellent condition and of excellent quality.
And the icing on the cake is a tpmr vehicle made available and perfectly adapted.
I have nothing but compliments to say about this villa, ideally located in the Algarve.
In addition, Caroline is adorable, immediately there if you need her and offers excellent advice.
I really recommend this place for a peaceful PMR vacation.

Accompagnatrice de tourisme adapté professionnelle depuis 12 ans, je viens de passer 15 jours à Almancil dans la villa de Caroline avec une dame hémiplégique (fauteuil roulant électrique, besoin d'accompagnement pour tous les gestes du quotidien,besoin d'un lève personne et d'un lit médicalisé).
Je ne peux que conseiller au centuple l'extraordinaire villa de Caroline, TOUT, STRICTEMENT TOUT a été pensé pour recevoir des personnes en situation de handicap lourd, les pièces sont très grandes, les espaces sont très agréables à la fois pour travailler et pour séjourner (la villa est très belle), 3 très belles chambres et une plus petite, des rampes, une salle de bain pmr parfaitement conçue, une cuisine immense où tout fonctionne a la perfection. Lit médicalisé, lève personne, chaise de do**he, tout est présent, en excellent état et d'excellente qualité.
Et cerise sur le gâteau un véhicule tpmr mis à disposition et parfaitement adapté.
Je n'ai que des compliments à faire à propos de cette villa en plus idéalement placée en Algarve.
De surcroît Caroline est adorable, immédiatement présente si on a besoin d'elle et d'excellent conseil.
Je recommande vraiment cet endroit pour des vacances pmr dans la sérénité.

We had the most wonderful holiday at Luz Do Sol, in the October half term.
So many places claim to be accessible and disabled friendly, yet all they actually offer is a level access through the front door.
Caroline has carefully set out the Villa to be genuinely accessible, wet room with under sink access for a wheelchair user, ramps where ever there is a need, transfer wheelchair, profiling bed and more! I have to say that Caroline has really put the needs of disabled people and their families at the fore, there is even a WAV for use for the wheelchair user to get about.
Even the transfer to and from the airport was in a dedicated WAV, she has literally thought of everything.
The villa itself is just gorgeous, lovely big open spaces inside for room to maneuver the wheelchair, huge kitchen with a lovely big dining table that meant we could all eat together as a family and share our experiences of the wonderful days out we had and as for the pool, it is just beautiful. We spent many evenings in the water. Caroline even has a specialist hoist to allow easy transfers in and out of the water.
The villa is in a great location, so much to see and do in a short journey with beautiful sandy beaches and many restaurants nearby, it is a great base to explore the Algarve region.
Caroline herself was really helpful with planning our days out, she was able to offer good advice to what were the best accessible days out and events to attend and there was plenty of useful information in her handy guide books in the living room.
Thank you Caroline for making our holiday incredible, and for giving our daughter the chance to do the same things as everyone else, which as a parent to a disabled child, means so much and you made her feel very special.
I cannot recommend Luz Do Sol and Caroline enough, we will definitely be going back!
