Spoke to our agents in Porto, Lovely Stay. They were saying that it is a fantastic time to visit the city. It's safe, social distancing and masks rules are being adhere to. Apparently, the really good thing is that although everything of interest is open, there are much fewer tourists than normal at this time of the year. Which is great for the holiday makers who have taken the plunge and made it to this beautiful city for a holiday.

What a great time of year to visit exciting Porto. Everything still open but only a fraction of the tourists compared to high season.

We have very generous rates for Porto Branca Apartment, reflecting the low season. Why not consider a pre Christmas break to recharge the batteries, see the sights and lights, shop, eat great food and drink fantastic wine and, of course, port. What's not to like?

We recently stayed in the apartment with friends for a long weekend. It gave us a chance to explore more of Porto and what the city has to offer in December.

The air was crisp but we had blue sky and sunshine everyday. The city was also less crowded which was a bonus. December is now our favourite month to visit Porto (but we suspect that January will be the same!)

Cross the bridge, pass the porto houses on your left and walk towards the coast. You’ll find the Douro Marina and some of the yummiest seafood.
