The world is in constant mutation and sometimes we are caught in the way, not knowing what to do or how to act. We need to rethink our actions on how we treat our planet because we don't have a plan B. Hopefully all this time we were all at home gave us time to think what to do in the future, how to be kind to one another but mainly how to be kind to our planet.
It's impossible to live as we do, so it's time to stop and reboot. Time to enjoy the singularity of life. Time to look but also see the wonders we have around us and appreciate them.
We all had to adjust to this new reality and for sure we will succeed.
When you are ready and decide to visit us, we will be waiting for you with our arms opened.

When visiting Porto, the Rose Window at Porto's Cathedral it's a must see. For sure you will get lost in it's wonder.

Visiting a city is also enjoying the small moments with the ones you love. Stopping in a terrace overlooking the river, resting in a garden reading the book you always wanted and didn't had time to do it. It's loosing yourself in every street. It's letting go. In one of your stops to catch a breath or rest (our streets are like outdoor gyms) try one of our conventual sweets. Feel the explosion of sweetness and hundreds of years of history. Sometimes you just need that time. That moment. One knows that conventual sweets have a huge amount of egg yolks since the whites were used by Nuns to ironing their clothes. What to do with the egg yolks? In the XVIII and XIX century Portugal would become one of the biggest egg producer in Europe. The whites were mainly exported to help into the wine making acting as a purifying element. Once more a lot of egg yolks were put aside. Nuns and Monks gave way to their imagination and created incredible typical sweets. Almost all sweets have religious names (sometimes quite funny) so it isn't hard to understand where they were born and who made them. Names like Nuns belly, Angels belly, Nuns neck or Abbot’s ears are some of the examples. Don’t forget to try one. The History behind the Francesinha

Accordingly to the locals, Francesinha was brought by a former portuguese emigrant in France and it's inspiration was the famous Croque-Monsieur. Francesinha is made with bread and several meats (ham, sausage and pork or beef) covered with cheese, an egg and the special spicy sauce are compulsory ingredients. It's maker wanted that the sandwich was as spicy as the french ladies - so it's name Francesinha (literally little french girl). The connoisseurs (almost all Porto locals) say that the secret is in the sauce. One knows that it has onion, garlic, tomato, beer, white wine, port wine. The rest? The rest it's a secret.

De acordo com relatos, a francesinha foi trazida por um ex-emigrante e a inspiração parece ter sido o Croque-Monsieur. A francesinha é confecionada com pão e diversas carnes (fiambre, linguiça, salsicha e porco ou vaca), o queijo como cobertura e o molho espesso e picante são ingredientes obrigatórios. O seu criador queria que esta sandes fosse tão picante quanto as mulheres francesas - daí o seu nome. Dizem que é no molho que está o segredo. Sabe-se que leva cebola, alho, louro, tomate, cerveja, vinho branco, vinho do Porto. O resto? O resto é segredo.
