Porto's longest-running Food Tour company. Do you want to skip the tourist traps and taste the real Porto while making a positive impact on our community?

Our food and wine walking tours in Porto feel less like tours and more like taking a walk with a local friend who knows a lot about the history of Porto and strives for every guest to fall in love with the city. Over the past 8 years, we came out as the top pick for Porto Food Tours on Lonely Planet, The Guardian and Parts Unknown. And because we believe deeply in tourism having a positive impact
on our community, a portion of the tour ticket price is donated to a local charity that helps the ones in need. Visit us at tasteporto.com

Christmas Markets are back! 🎄
This December, Porto’s Christmas markets are lighting up the season, combining the best of both worlds: local small businesses and our beautiful city as the backdrop.
Planning a visit? Which markets are on your list this year?

Porto doesn’t mess around when it comes to food. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again.
This week, the Taste Porto crew gathered for our Christmas lunch - and we did it the only way Porto knows how: loud, messy, and absolutely delicious.
The setting? The kitchen of Bolhão Market, our home base. Together with a local chef, we rolled up our sleeves and prepared a meal that was as much about the process as it was about the feast.
Our table overflowed with the good stuff:
🤤Salty, rich cured meats;
🤤The wild, ocean-kissed magic of percebes (goose barnacles, proof that the strangest things often taste the best);
🤤 Succulent shrimp;
🤤Serra da Estrela cheese;
And, of course, a never-empty bread basket. This is Porto, after all, and carbs are practically a religion here.
The star of the show? “Cozido à Portuguesa”. It might not be a traditional Christmas dish, but this hearty stew is a love letter to Portuguese cooking. Some even call it the national dish. One bite, and you’d understand why - it’s comfort and culture in a bowl.
And then there was the wine, flowing like the Douro River outside - endless, effortless, and full of seasonal cheer.
By dessert, we were full - but who could resist “pão-de-ló”, a cake so airy it could float, or “rabanadas”, fried slices of heaven?
Maria de Lourdes Modesto, often called “Portugal’s Julia Child,” once said that one of the joys of Christmas is its parade of fried treats. We couldn't agree more!
This wasn’t just a meal - just like our tours are never just tours. It was a celebration of tradition, a reminder that food isn’t just fuel - it’s what brings people together, what turns strangers into friends, and what makes life worth the trouble.
If you’re planning a Christmas feast with friends, family, or colleagues and want us to create a similar experience, we’re just an email or a call away:
Here’s to Porto. Here’s to food. And here’s to doing it all over again!

We won’t promise you the best francesinha in town or that you’ll check off every famous landmark in 3.5 hours.
That’s not what this is about. What we can promise is real food - the kind our grandparents adored - and places that carry the weight of our childhood memories.
This isn’t just a tour. It’s a chance to become the kind of traveler who leaves an authentic mark, the kind that shapes the city, instead of just passing through.
We are looking forward to sharing Porto's secrets with you!

"What makes Taste Porto so special isn’t just the food (though it’s incredible); it’s the way they bring the city’s culinary culture to life. Each stop on the tour feels like a chance to connect with the locals, and by the end of the day, you’ll have a much deeper understanding of how food in Porto is truly a reflection of the people who make it."
Hosting Portia Jones in Porto reminded us of something we too often overlook: great places don’t just happen - they’re created. It’s no surprise she fell in love with this city and its warm people. We feel the same way, every day! Thank you for the beautiful feature, Portia! ❤
Portugal's second city, has been turning heads recently, and for good reason.

We once asked Taste Porto's co-founder: "What’s your most treasured memory in Porto?"
He replied: “The look in Meagan’s eyes - Taste Porto’s first guest and my first tour as a guide - while falling in love with Porto.”
Fast forward 11 years, and guess who’s back?
Meagan! It’s incredible to welcome her once more for another tour with the same guide who sparked her love for Porto in the beginning.
