It’s a tale old as time: after every meal, a Portuguese will ask for an espresso!

And for those 4 people in the country who don't drink coffee, another warm drink - "carioca de limão" - is served in the same cups as coffee, so they don't feel completely left out of the social importance of coffee drinking in Portugal.

It's a day filled with love for our home, the place where our tour company thrives, where our families and friends reside, where our children grow, where diverse wildlife coexists, and where countless visitors find magic every year.

Have you experienced that magic too?

The diminutive size of Portugal, a land area about the size of the U.S. state of Indiana, might suggest that there is not much culinary diversity. Nothing could be further from the truth and you’ll start to notice that if you cross the country from North to South or fly to the islands. There are almost as many types of sausage, bread, cheese, wine, beer, and conventual sweets … as there are geographical regions.

The best part? These diverse flavors often come together at one table, celebrating the shared joy of a shared meal in a shared country.
