What do you know about the Sintra caves? The mountains of Sintra are like Swiss cheese, filled with caves and underground chambers. The ancients called this mountain range “The Shallow Mountain.” There are various types of tunnels and caves in the mountains; some are man-made water mines used to access the natural water reserves inside the mountain, while others are natural tunnels formed by the erosion of rain and underground water flows over thousands of years. Additionally, we have discovered a network of escape tunnels built by the ancients for safety, intended to provide a means of escape in case of enemy invasion. Many of these caves are open to explorers, while others remain closed and hidden in secret locations. Would you dare to explore them?
