Gualdim Pais is a hard name to say, I do a tour of Tomar and I can’t even pronounce this bloke’s name. When I move about in the world I like to know what was gone on around a place. In Nottingham we had Robin Hood, the part of London I lived had Dick Whittington and here in Tomar we have Gualdim Pais and the Knights Templar. The Portuguese will be the first to tell you about things like why the British call tea tea, Legend has it that the Portuguese crates were marked “Transporte de Ervas Aromaticas” (Transport of Aromatic Herbs)* or TEA – but ask them about something real, that actually happened and they, or most, have no idea, unless it’s about Ronaldo or Sporting.

This is all I knew about Templar knights a month or so ago.

Well the first time I heard about Templar knight was watching Indiana Jones and the Las Crusade, now I'm a a master.
