📣 Registration opens on World Seabird Day, July 3, 2023! Join and showcase your passion for Macaronesian seabirds!

🌟 OBJECTIVES: We want to challenge you to learn more about the biodiversity and natural history of these incredible birds, their habitats, and the threats they face. Additionally, we aim to promote photography as a means of expression.

📸 PARTICIPATION:
✔️ Free and open to everyone!
✔️ We accept photographs taken with any type of camera, including smartphones.
✔️ We strongly encourage participation from amateur photographers.
✔️ Separate category for photographers under 18 - Young Photographer Award.

🌍 THEME: 🐦 Macaronesian Seabirds: All photographs must be taken in the Macaronesia region, including the archipelagos of the Azores, Canary Islands, Madeira, Cape Verde, and the surrounding oceans.

Este fim de semana celebra-se a festa do Irró em Vila Franca do Campo.

Esta festa pretende prestar homenagem a 15 de Abril ao santo padroeiro São Pedro Gonçalves que segundo a cultura católica é o padroeiro dos marujos, marinheiros e pescadores.

Esta festa em Vila Franca do Campo tem a alcunha de Irró pois esta palavra era utilizada sob a forma de grito para coordenar os homens quando juntos empurravam os barcos pela rampa cima ao voltar do mar ou mesmo movimentando o barco em terra quando necessário.

Decidimos dar este nome ao nosso 📸barco porque acreditamos que juntos coordenados somos mais fortes, para homenagear a terra natal da SailZen e já agora para navegarmos bem protegidos no mar. 😉🙏

Desejamos um excelente Irró a todos ! 🚣‍♂️⛵️⚓️

This weekend the Irró festival is celebrated in Vila Franca do Campo.

This party intends to pay homage on the 15th of April to the patron saint São Pedro Gonçalves who, according to Catholic culture, is the patron saint of sailors, sailors and fishermen.

This party in Vila Franca do Campo has the nickname of Irró because this word was used in the form of a shout to coordinate the men when together they pushed the boats up the ramp when returning from the sea or even moving the boat on land when necessary.

We decided to give this name to our boat because we believe that together we are stronger, to honor the homeland of SailZen and by the way to sail well protected at sea. 😉🙏

The calm days of the summer are great for wildlife watch! 🦈🐢🫶

These are the days we can see sharks, turtles, moonfish, manta rays, etc.. all those animals that are not normally seen because of their quick surface moments and the wind chopping up the ocean all the time.

Even if we have to use the main engine on flat days, it is super pleasant to experience the life on a flat ocean!🥰⛵️
