We don’t how is the tradition in your country, but in Portugal, Easter is all about family and stuffing your mouth with delicious food, mostly sweet. It will be a weekend of family gathering with sugar for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Kids get hyper and adults argue about anything. In the end, we are loud, have bellies full of food and love in our hearts.
Happy Easter to our friends and family from all over the world 🤍🐣

The Templars' connection with Tomar is deeply rooted in the Convento de Cristo, an architectural marvel and a testament to their influence. Founded in the 12th century, the Convento de Cristo served as the order's Portuguese headquarters. This imposing complex, blending Romanesque, Gothic, and Renaissance styles, stands atop a hill overlooking Tomar. The Knights Templars played a crucial role in defending Christian territories during the Middle Ages, and their legacy is intricately woven into the convent's history. After the Templars were disbanded in the 14th century, the convent became the seat of the Order of Christ, a successor to the Templars. The Convento de Cristo thus preserves the mystique of the Templars and their enduring influence on Tomar's cultural and architectural heritage.

Wine barrels, fundamental to winemaking, are cylindrical containers traditionally crafted from oak wood, though other woods like chestnut or redwood are also used. Their design and material contribute to the unique flavors and characteristics of the wine. Oak barrels, in particular, add tannins and vanillin, enhancing the wine's complexity. The use of barrels has originated with the ancient Romans and gained prominence in medieval Europe. Over time, barrel aging became integral to the art of winemaking, as it allows for controlled oxidation, maturation, and the integration of flavors. The interaction between the wine and the porous wood influences aroma, taste, and texture, creating a nuanced final product. Beyond functionality, wine barrels symbolize tradition and craftsmanship, embodying the heritage and timeless artistry of winemaking.

Originally influenced by Islamic patterns, Portuguese azulejos evolved into a unique art form. They were used to decorate palaces, churches, and public buildings, often depicting scenes from Portuguese history, religious narratives, and ornate geometric designs. In the 18th century, the renowned blue-and-white tiles gained popularity.
