The Career Services Center is a part of the Students Affairs sector at Qatar University, and is responsible for Career Counseling as well as career development which can help our students and Alumni to have the best job opportunities in the labor market.

Many students join the university without having a clea
r vision of which course of study they would like to pursue. Even after declaring something on paper, some room for doubt may still exist in their minds as to whether the chosen subject is truly the “right” one. It is often on learning about the wide variety of career fields available that students are ready to make a more informed decision about the career path they will pursue. It begins in your freshman year as you begin to better understand your personal needs and attributes and explore academic and career options. It continues throughout your
academic program with the goal of finding a professional job that is right for you. The Career Services Center (CSC) provides counseling, training and professional development services and helps to prepare students to engage and compete for the best career opportunities. It specializes in providing QU students with student employment during their study at QU. Additionally; the CSC assists students with sponsorship, internship and full-time job opportunities and provides numerous career-related resources, programs and activities.

"Student Employment and Support Services Section"
Our developmental Student Employment Program is designed to enhance each student’s educational experiences while providing a necessary service to the QU community. Through employment on campus, students will take the benefit of:
• Professional training workshops to develop their employability skills.
• A valuable work experience which will benefit them in choosing their career.
• A financially worthy experience. "Career Development Section"
This section helps individuals of all ages and academic levels to choose their majors and explore different career options. Students can work closely with the center’s career counselors to explore themselves and the world of work in order to make the best decisions.Through counselling sessions, and soft-skills training and workshops, we provide student with:
• An opportunity to educate first year students about different educational paths.
• Teaching students the importance of examining and connecting to the labor market.
• Helping students to build their CVs.
• Providing students with different career training and workshops to gain and build their career skills. "Employer Relations Section"
The Employer Relations Section is the primary link between the labor market and Qatar University students and graduates. Through numerous activities (such as employer visits, presentations, networking career fairs and many others) our students receive:
• Help in making good career decisions by firsthand exploration of different options.
• Opportunities to integrate their academic studies into work and the community.
• Personal, academic and work competencies.
• Career-related experience to add to a CV and interview.
• Offers for internships, sponsorships, professional employment and graduate programs.

"How can employers and other community service organizations benefit from the Center’s services?"
The Career Services Center deals with all the organizations, agencies and companies operating in Qatar (private sector - public sector -mixed-sector) and provides the following services:
• Vacancy Announcement service.
• Preparation for job interviews (on and off campus): The Center coordinates interviews on campus at the request of local companies and institutions with alumni or prospective graduate students. The Center also coordinates those interviews that are held on-site at the
various institutions.
• Employers’ visits: Conducted through coordination of companies’ induction visits in various sectors inside the campus to meet QU students.
• External speakers (lectures): The Center hosts speakers from various sectors (Governments and Institutions, Oil and Gas, Finance and Business, Education, health and sport) to provide students with wide-ranging information on the job market, and employment opportunities.
• Participation in external exhibitions: The Center is keen to participate in various exhibitions like Qatar Career Fair. This will provide students with a wide-range of career options and future personal aspirations.
• Preparing for Sponsorship and Internship Career Forum: The Center organizes forums of this nature to provide students with the opportunity to get acquainted with and network with employers to discuss career plans and opportunities.
