The Kalnoky castle (late Renaissance) is hosting the Museum of Transylvanian Life and providing insight into several centuries of Transylvanian cultural history. Take a step back in history and see how an aristocratic residence in Transylvania looked like (including the kitchen of a mansion), and how noblemen lived : see the books they read, the weapons and the musical instruments they used, or th

e delicate sewing pieces and glasswork and the spectacular stoves. Please note that the guided tours begin every hour(last tour at 16.00).

Our Story

*The Kálnoky Castle (late Renaissance) is hosting the Museum of Transylvanian Life since April 2017. If you want to travel in time, learn history and spend wonderful moments we invite you in Micloșoara to see how an authentic aristocratic residence in Transylvania looked like. The museum shows how noblemen lived : the books they read, the weapons and the musical instruments they used, the delicate textiles or glass work and the spectacular stoves. You can also relax in our lovely Renaissance gardens or rent the place for your event! *Schedule New opening hours starting from 8th November 2019: Monday - Wednesday: Closed Thursday - Sunday: 11.00- 16.00. Last entrance at 15 PM Entrance fee: 15 lei ( 10 lei for children and pensioners). *Please note that the guided tours starts in every hour.

*Tickets can be bought only at Count Kálnoky’s Guesthouses, in the village (200 m before reaching the museum, on the main road): Strada Principală, Micloșoara, nr 186.
