Romania celebrates Saint Andrew next week on November 30th, an important hoiliday filled with symbols and traditions - from garlic eating to fend off spirits to letting wheat spring in order to test the abundance of the upcoming year.

It is a National Holiday so expect lively celebrations and full streets :)

2022 marks the 125th anniversary of Bram Stoker's Dracula - the beginning of the legend that brings hundreds of thousands of people to Bran Castle every year.

The Embassy of Ireland in Romania has curated an exhibit dedicated to this phenomena. Runnning from May 12th to November 12th.

Did you know? Romania has its own celebration of love day on February 24th. Its significance rooted more in nature than legend, it is around this time that the birds begin to build their nests and mate.

On this day, considered locally the first day of spring, boys and girls gather vernal flowers and sing together. Maidens used to collect the snow that lay on the ground in many villages and then melt it, using the water in magic potions throughout the rest of the year.

Don't leave Transylvania without trying the famous Romanian Bean Soup with the local twist - its served in bread, fully edible and deliciously soaked in soup by the end of the meal.
