The Programme supports the development of the eligible border areas, in Romania and Bulgaria (Mehedinti, Dolj, Olt, Teleorman, Giurgiu, Calarasi and Constanta in Romania, Vidin, Montana, Vratsa, Pleven, Veliko-Tarnovo, Ruse, Silistra and Dobrich in Bulgaria). The Programme aims to create a “bridge” between the two countries, in order to help the border areas overcome their similar development prob

lems. People in border areas are encouraged to cooperate, to exchange information and benefit from improved access over the frontier. The invitation of submission of the Governance Project for supporting the Strategy Board has been launched!

Today, 1st of April 2025, we launch the invitation of the submission of the Governance Project for supporting the Strategy Board responsible with the development and implementation of the Integrated Territorial Strategy for the Romania-Bulgaria cross-border area under Policy Objective 5 – “A Europe closer to citizens”!

The invitation is dedicated exclusively only for the members of the Strategy Board!

STREAM 2 strategic project is officially in motion!!🥳🥳

On March 26, 2025, we marked the kick-off of STREAM 2 Operation of Strategic Importance (OSI)—a complex initiative financed by Interreg VI-A RO-BG Programme through the European Regional Development Fund!

Hosted in Constanța by the General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations from Romania as Lead partner of the project, this milestone event brought together representatives from key stakeholders from both Romania and Bulgaria and from the Managing Authority (MA) for Interreg VI-A RO-BG Programme.

With an impressive approx. €24 million budget, this strategic project unites six cross-border partners to tackle climate change adaptation and boost disaster resilience—ensuring a safer future for our communities on both sides of the Danube!🛳⚓️

The event welcomed high-level stakeholders, including representatives of central and local institutions and authorities from Romania and Bulgaria, media and other key players, all committed to driving impactful change.

The momentum continued on March 27, 2025, with the first Steering Committee meeting, where the Lead partner detailed the objectives, activities, budget and expected outcomes. The discussions between the project partners from Romania and Bulgaria and MA representatives fostered valuable insights on project implementation and Programme rules, strengthening the partnership between Romania and Bulgaria.

Together we are building a safer, more resilient cross-border region! This project is a significant step forward between Romania and Bulgaria in enhancing emergency management and ensuring a coordinated, rapid disaster response.

First steps in setting up the network of communication officers at Programme level!!📢🙂

On March 7, 2025, the Managing Authority (MA) took a major step in strengthening communication across our Programme! We hosted the first working meeting at MA headquarters with the communication officers from our key Operations of Strategic Importance (OSI): DISMAR and STREAM 2.

The goal? 🎯To create a network of communication officers, ensuring a direct, smooth, real-time flow of communication information between MA, JS, and project partners.

🔎Key point discussed during the meeting:

✅ MA representatives presented the main EU communication & visibility rules and communication documents at the Programme level
✅ DISMAR & STREAM 2 communication officers shared their plans for the communication activities and events foreseen for 2025
✅ Discussions focused on the organization of the major communication event, involving MA and EC (as foreseen by art. 36 of EU Regulation 1059/2021), and OSI partners presenting their initial proposals, which will be developed at the later stage
✅ MA proposal of a dedicated OSI page on the Programme website + increased promotion of OSI communication actions on the social media pages of the Programme was welcomed!

This first meeting was a fantastic start, fostering collaboration, clarifying all requirements on communication and setting up new communication channels between MA, JS and OSI partners!🎉

A huge thanks to and 2 project partners for their active involvement!👏 We’re excited to expand this initiative and organize similar meetings with all project communication officers in the future!

On 15th of January was launched the Call for Concept Notes under the Integrated Territorial Strategy for the Romania-Bulgaria Cross-Border Area.
📝 Deadline: March 4, 2025, 13:00

This call is open to Concept Notes funded under Priority 4 (An Integrated Region) of the Interreg VI-A Romania-Bulgaria Programme and other related funding sources.

Please be informed that an updated version of the Applicant's Guide for the competitive call for project proposals 4 dedicated to priority 2: A green region, Specific Objective 2.4 - Promoting climate change adaptation and disaster risk prevention, resilience taking into account ecosystem-based approaches - climate change adaptation, has been published, along with the Corrigendum approved on 09.01.2025, according to CM decision no. 41/09.01.2025. An updated version of Annex A-Evaluation Grids has also been published.

Your feedback is crucial in helping us ensure that the guide effectively meets the needs of potential applicants and supports a smooth application process!
