The cozy village of Mandrogi is a favorite stop on every "Imperial Cruise".

The traditional Russian way of life is lovingly recreated here. The village offers authentic souvenirs made locally in craft workshops, horse-drawn cart rides, the chance to steam in a real Russian bath house and a taste of the famous local cloudberry pies. Not to mention of course, the Russian vodka museum, which is not to be missed. 😉

The Kul Sharif Mosque is the pearl of the Kazan Kremlin. It was named after an imam who died in 1552, defending the city against Ivan-the-Terrible’s army. Inside, a museum tells the story of Islam, and how it grew on the Volga.

It’s hard to imagine the scope of a river cruise from Moscow to St. Petersburg! The Volga Dream sails along 5 main water courses: The Moscow, Kovzha, Sheksna, Svir and Neva rivers; over the huge White, Onega and Ladoga lakes and two canals. The ship covers 1,800 km in 7 days. The Volga Dream is a great way to discover Russia!
