WHAT IS IT LIKE TO STUDY IN TOP UNIVERSITY OF RUSSIA ?
Here is the story sent to H2 from an client who is currently studying on tuition-free scholarship in HSE - Best university of Russian and she is already applying for the Migration, preparing to work in the most high-paid corporation in Moscow.
"When a thought suddenly crosses your mind and you immediately think of going to school in the country of Aries, why not choose HSE? Whether in Russia there are 100 or 1000 universities so you can freely fly. dancing in the knowledge sky, HSE is probably still very prominent, because rumors about it always make those who want to enter this school to be afraid and worried. But, even so, HSE is still a This is a good school, so this article is here to help you better understand how preparatory studies at HSE will happen and is it worth it for you to choose, okay?"
There are a few differences between HSE and some universities in Russia in the preparatory year that at HSE we study by modules, not semesters. Here, we go through 4 learning modules as follows:
Module 1 (October โ January): Before entering the preparatory course at HSE, you will be sent a link by the school to check your entrance, don't worry, please answer according to your ability. I'm okay. There are some friends I know, they don't even answer so they can learn from the beginning class. After that, you will receive an email informing about the class, the homeroom teacher (usually 1 lead teacher and 1 assistant teacher, however, the teaching time of the 2 teachers is the same). In this module, you will study 3 periods a day (each hour lasts 80 minutes, the break between each period is 20-30 depending on the time frame), the first class at school starts at 9:30 am and You will have to study 5 days/week. Depending on the class schedule, each class will have different study times and breaks. At the end of the module, we will have a test (the level of each test class will be different: class A1 โ grammar test, A2 โ grammar test, B1 โ 4 skills. Don't worry. The test is for assessment purposes only and does not affect any results.
Module 2 (January - early March): In this module, in addition to Russian, we have a new subject, specialized Russian, depending on the subject that you are oriented to learn. Social-Humanities, Economics or Engineering that will take different classes (For Economics and Engineering there will be a math entrance exam, and Bachelor or Master level there will also be a test). different tests, this test also does not affect the classification, only to assess competence). After finishing this module, we will still take a test in Russian: multiple choice + simple writing (usually writing letters and answering a few questions related to interests) and Scientific language for the Humanities-Sociology (others I don't know): multiple choice test and a simple essay on a social issue.
Module 3: (March โ end of April): After completing Module 2, you will be graded based on the final exam of the module. Classes are divided by level of Russian as well as by grade, but you will have 1 week to try it out and if it is not suitable, please email the manager immediately to change the class accordingly. In this module, in addition to Russian and Scientific languages, you can also learn 3 new subjects (Social-Sciology: Society, Literature, History - Economics: Math, Society, History - Engineering : Maths, Physics, Information Science). The number of classes also increased significantly. At the end of this module, we will have an exam which is a mock exam (same as the final exam), Russian language will test B1 level for all classes with 5 skills (Grammar, Listening, Speaking, Reading, Writing) and the rest of the subjects, the exam format is as follows: Sociology (multiple choice + answer questions), History (20 questions multiple choice), Literature (40 multiple choice questions + 1 essay) About the author/work), Math (Self-reported - no calculator),... Particularly for Scientific Language, we will read 1 essay on economic/social/historical topic and listen to 1 lesson on the same topic to write an essay of at least 20 answers 5 suggested questions. If any subject/skill is below 51 points, you will be rescheduled. The test results do not affect the final grading.
Module 4 (May-mid-June): the module will mostly complete the missing knowledge, the class that completes can review to prepare for the final exam. The final exam is similar to the mock exam, but, there is no retake. If any subject is less than 51 points, you will be considered failed.
In general, the preparatory studies at HSE are quite heavy due to the relatively large number of classes and subjects, but, you can also leave school if you feel tired or have a good reason, except for Russian when you leave. so you should message your teacher on the day you are off, other subjects do not need to ask for permission. However, if you take a lot of rest and continuously, you need to get a doctor's prescription or you will be warned. You should also not miss more than 20% of the lessons, the teachers all have attendance to report back to the office, some teachers also have attendance marks.
In addition, doing homework at HSE is also necessary. If you do not do your homework and affect your test results, you will also receive a letter of admonition.
However, although studying hard and the exam is relatively difficult, if you study hard normally, it will not be difficult to graduate because the teachers are very fond of international students!
