Slavic Halloween. Theme Tour to the Most Mystical Town in Russia🎃

Few people know that in Slavic mythology there is its own version of Halloween - Veles Night, which is also celebrated on October 31st.
⠀
Veles' Night is an ancient Slavic holiday dedicated to the transition from fall to winter. The Slavs believed that on the night of October 31st through November 1st all of nature falls into slumber, which will last until the first spring thaw. On this special night the border between the worlds becomes especially thin: the spirits can to visit our world, and people can enter the afterlife. It was said that at any crossroads, one could meet mysterious guests from other worlds.

During the excursion you will get acquainted with the traditions of the holiday, participate in rituals for good luck and prosperity, and try traditional meals prepared by the ancient Slavic recipes.

We are happy to share with you our new product, which fits perfectly into the Halloween theme. Immersive Mafia is a game-performance in which the players choose the storyline.

The goal of the game is to use your intuition and the hints the Mafia left for you at the mansion to identify the murderer among the characters.

The action takes place in a historic palace. The game's plot incorporates the history of the place, and players can move around freely in most of the rooms. Our professional actors will accompany you throughout the game. All that allows you to fully immerse yourself in the game.

Great news! We are happy to announce that Moscow finally joined the ranks of the world's top gourmet destinations on Thursday when nine of its restaurants were awarded Michelin stars 💫

"Inspectors have been particularly seduced by the high-quality local produce," said Gwendal Poullennec, Michelin Guide International Director.

The guide will list 69 restaurants!

Two restaurants — Twins Garden run by twin brothers Ivan and Sergei Berezutskiy, and chef Artem Estafev's Artest — were given two stars.

Seven restaurants were given one star - White Rabbit, Beluga, Biologie, Grand Cru, Sakhalin, Savva and Selfie!

Additionally three restaurants were given MICHELIN Green Star - Biologie, Björn and
Twin Gardens (restaurants that are pioneering in their sustainable approach).

Congratulations to all the chefs and their team who have worked so hard to get there!👏🏻

Who has seen it once will dream with the image of Saint-Petersburg with Red Sailboat. This sail boat became one of the symbols of Saint-Petersburg since 1968. Every year on June 25th “Red Sails” festival celebrates high school gradations. Best students from all over the country arrive to Saint-Petersburg to take part in celebration, visit the concert on the main Palace square and see the legendary Red Sailboat entering the waters of Neva River as graduates are entering adults’ life.
Locals and tourist love this festival and don’t miss the opportunity to take pictures of the legendary sailboat every year.⛵️

Victory Day in Russia is celebrated on May 9 and the country’s second most popular public holiday after New Year’s Day.

The holiday marks the capitulation of N**i Germany to the Soviet Union in the Second World War in 1945. Unlike Europe where it is celebrated on May 8, Victory Day in Russia is celebrated on May 9 as Germany’s surrender was signed late in the evening on May 8, 1945 when it was already May 9 in Russia.

Victory Day in Russia commemorates millions of people who lost their lives in the Second World War, known in Russia as the Great Patriotic War, and honors the bravery of Russian soldiers and Russian people on the whole whose heroism saved the country from N**i invaders.

On this day celebrations and commemorative events are held all across Russia, with military parades taking place in the country’s major cities, the most spectacular one in Moscow’s Red Square.

Victory Day in Russia is a sacred holiday for Russians who often say that there is not a single family in the country who did not lose someone in that war.

Happy Orthodox Easter 🐣!!

Today we celebrate the most significant religious holiday in Russia!

In Western Christianity, Easter’s date is determined according to the Gregorian calendar. In Russia, however, Orthodox Easter is determined according to the older Julian calendar – meaning that is usually falls a little later in the year

Easter day is time to break the Lenten fast – but instead of gorging on chocolate Easter bunnies, Russians traditionally enjoy special Easter foods. The Easter eggs here are not chocolate, but hard-boiled. These eggs play a central role in many Russian Eastern traditions – whether it’s painting them, exchanging them with friends and loved ones, or using them in games such as ‘egg rolling’ and ‘egg tapping’.

You can also try kulich, a sweet yeast bread similar to Italian panettone, and paskha, a pyramid-shaped cake made using cream cheese. Both of these treats are often decorated with the letters “XB” – the first letters of the “Христос Воскресе” Easter greeting.

Saint-Petersburg is known for its art exhibition and is often called the cultural capital of Russia.

This time we would like to share with you the beauty of exhibition of masterpieces of the Cartier and Hermitage collections.

The exhibition «Cartier: Continuing the Story. Masterpieces of Decorative and Applied Art from the Hermitage Museum and the Jewelry Heritage of the Cartier House» dedicated to the 5th anniversary of the joint restoration project by the Hermitage Museum and the Cartier House was open in February of 2021 and has attracted so many locals and visitors of Saint-Petersburg that the initiative will continue with future joined projects.
Exhibition includes 35 jewelry adornments from Cartier’s historic collection and 5 famous exhibits of the Hermitage collection restored by jewelers of Cartier house and Hermitage restoration workshops.

The exhibition is stunning and art of jewelry and beauty are eternal!

The brightest, funniest and most entertaining of Russians holidays Maslenitsa has finished and a 49-day Great Lent began!

Great Lent is the strictest fasting season in the Russian Orthodox Church calendar. It begins right after Maslenitsa and lasts 48 days, until Easter.
People observing it restrain consuming animal products. But the Great Lent is not just about diet. Its meaning is to clean oneself spiritually and to prepare for celebrating Christ’s resurrection. In 2021, Great Lent has started on March 15th and will last till May 1st.

One of the best places where you can learn about Russian Orthodox Church is Sergiev Posad!

The Trinity Lavra of St. Sergius is a world famous spiritual center of the Russian Orthodox Church and a popular site of pilgrimage and tourism. Being situated in the town of Sergiev Posad about 70 km to the north-east from Moscow, it is the most important working Russian monastery and a residence of the Patriarch.

Great news- International event in off-line format!

The 24th St. Petersburg International Economic Forum is set to take place on 2–5 June 2021!

The St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) is a unique event in the world of business and economics.

Forum organizers vowed to hold the event with adherence to effective safety measures to prevent the COVID-19 coronavirus spread.

“According to experts, we have reached a turning point, and Russia and the rest of the world can now begin to look forward to a post-pandemic future. The global community needs the epidemiological situation to stabilize, which is now possible through mass vaccination and building herd immunity. With all this in mind, we believe it will be possible to hold the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum on 2–5 June 2021. The organizing committee of the Forum will do everything in their power to ensure that the event will be held with all the necessary measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Great care will be taken in drawing up these measures, which will be done in cooperation with the Federal Service for the Oversight of Consumer Protection and Welfare (Rospotrebnadzor) and in compliance with WHO requirements,” said Advisor to the President of the Russian Federation Anton Kobyakov.

Dear friends,

Every country has holidays that all locals love. One of the Russian holidays mostly adored by locals especially children is Maslenitsa, pancakes carnival also known as “butter week” or “pancake week”.
This year Maslenitsa dates are from 8th till 14th March.

Maslenitsa has a very long history. This ancient Slavic week-long festival combines pagan and Christian traditions and is held every year to celebrate the end of winter and the arrival of spring.

Maslenitsa is all about pancakes or blini. They are freshly made every day and supposedly symbolize the Sun, so by eating pancakes, people consume its warmth and energy. Russians try to eat as many of those as possible, especially before the approaching seven weeks of the Great Lent.

The grand finale of the pancake week is burning the effigy of Maslenitsa, a straw stuffed doll, dressed in female clothes, which marks the imminent end of winter. There are large festivals in all parks on Sunday, the last day of Maslenitsa. People eat hot blinis, dance to folk music and participate in fun competitions!
