What is the best time for a boat tour ❓

Actually, the best would be to go on a boat tour in the morning🚤☀️, when it’s usually less windy, and the traffic on the rivers and canals is the lightest (yes, there are traffic jams on the waterways). Try to avoid going on this tour on Saturday or Sunday night, as this might be the most crowded time 🙅🏼‍♀️

What’s on the agenda? 👀 – Seeing modern St. Petersburg!

We’re on Krestovsky Island to see one of the suspension bridges across the Neva. Unlike many other bridges, this one never opens (did you know that most bridges over the Neva are draw bridges?). The entire river is now covered with winter ice, but very soon it will all be gone ❄️ Come, spring, come! ☀️

Planning your trip to Russia in 2019? 🇷🇺 Make sure you don't miss these must-see places in St. Petersburg ✔️:

1️⃣ Peterhof Gardens

According to the statistics, Peterhof is visited by over 5 million people annually. What brings so many people to that place? – Its fountains. Peterhof has 150 fountains in total. The most impressive part in The Great Cascade – a complex of fountains, waterfalls and golden sculptures.

2️⃣ Nevsky Prospect.

Check out the city's main street, Nevsky Prospect. The street is as old as St. Petersburg. Today, it is one of the busiest streets with plenty of restaurants, bars and cafes, as well as shops, banks and offices. It's a great place for strolling, coffee-drinking and people-watching.

3️⃣ Peter and Paul Fortress.

The Fortress is located on the Hare's Island in some 30-minute walk from Nevsky Prospect. On the way, you will pass by such attractions as Palace Square, Winter Palace, The Hermitage buildings, the Spit of Vasilievsky Island, Neva Embankments and others. The Fortress is not to be missed. It was established in 1703. Today, it is known as the first structure of St. Petersburg. Peter and Paul Cathedral, the burial place of Russian emperors, is located in the center of the Fortress.

4️⃣ Church on Spilled Blood.

It is a Russian Orthodox church that is located in St. Petersburg city center (less than 5 minutes from Nevsky Prospect). It was opened in 1907 after 24 years of construction. Even though the church was abandoned in the Soviet Union, it kept its beauty and glory that inspires today's visitors. The entire interior of the church is decorated with mosaics (7000 sq.m. in total).

5️⃣ St. Isaac's Cathedral

St. Isaac's Cathedral was built in 1818-1858 by a French architect Auguste de Montferrand. Is it the biggest church in St. Petersburg. During your visit to the church you can also get up to its colonnade. Discover a breathtaking view of the city from the 43-meter height.

This week we visited this serene place hidden in the backyards of the urban jungle and got to know the artist himself. This hospitable person showed us around and presented some of his favourite songs. P.S. But, please, beware of his brush and paint if you show up unexpectedly.
