It's been a while since we've been working with and I'm still grateful to them for believing in me and working with them! A group of people from Slovenia biked together with me on the Congo Nile trail for one day and they enjoyed it very much! Especially the youngest child in this group she was ten years old! I was very impressed with how she was doing it and she strongly climbed gentle hills and she could carefully descend down hills perfectly.

Kagitumba Border - Nyagatare - Akagera NP - Musanze - Gisenyi - Lake Kivu

Kagitumba is located in Nyagatare District, Eastern Province, at the border with the Republic of Uganda. Its location lies very close and is immediately west of the geographical point where the International borders of Rwanda, Tanzania and Uganda Kaintersect. This location is approximately 38 kilometres (24 mi), by road, northeast of Nyagatare, the location of the district headquarters, Kagitumba lies approximately 136 kilometres (85 mi), by road, northeast of Kigali, the capital of Rwanda and the largest city in Rwanda.

Our guide will meet you at the border if your from Uganda then ride from the border heading north East Nyagatare town, you will ride on the side of the river which sperate the two country Rwanda and Uganda pass through a beautiful scenic view of the valleys as this place is the grenary of the whole country , on your way through the farms you will meet long horned cows which have been originated from unganda in Ankole kingdom , the beautiful ness of these long horned cows won't allow you to by pass without saying high and take pictures, this is sometimes a single trail and some other part of it is normal trail but ever geen beautiful forest sound of birds imean you never get tired.

Kigali to Gisenyi

Kigali-Sorwathe-Musanze + (Gorillas + Kinigi-Ruhondo) + Musanze-Gisenyi (Rubavu) + 2/3-Day Congo Nile Trail

Starting in Kigali you will ride to the tea plantation of Sorwathe. After a stay on the tea plantation you will ride to the Volcanoes of Virunga National Park and after a good night’s sleep you will then trekk , encounter and touch with your fingers ,Mountain Gorillas followed by a easy ride down to Ruhondo beach resort to spend the night. The last day is a ride from Musanze to the lake kivu of Gisenyi (Rubavu).

If you ARE feel like more adventure you can go for it, then you can add another 2 or 3-day guided hike or bike down the Congo Nile Trail before heading back to Kigali by car.



Includes: Accommodation, park permits, driver + vehicle support, mechanic support, English/French speaking guide, mountain bike and luggage transfers.

Optional activities: visits to genocide memorial in Kigali, museum visits, community-based projects, a visit to the Rwandan Cycling Centre, Golden Monkey trek and riding the Congo Nile Trail.

Difficulty: Moderate

couple of weeks ago! Imet this kind and freindly man From And we did eight days trip around Rwanda ! Picked him from his hotel in kigali and drove him to the north at then the next morning we started our cycling journey at the just for two days and then we transferred to gisenyi to start our cycling, enjoyed the views of lake kivu and mostly interacting with locals on the trail.
