Hello Friends!

I realize that our multifaceted project sometimes can be a bit confusing, if you have not followed closely. So let me explain a bit....

We have an amazing parcel of land in Kinigi, where we plan to build our Eco Center. It will include a small hotel, tents, an open air events pavilion with a stage, a small gift shop, a small cafe, and a library. We will have beautiful gardens throughout, mostly permaculture gardens. We will also have dairy goats, and some other fun things!

Our Center will be sustainably built with natural and upcycled materials, and it will be BEAUTIFUL! Our aim is to teach and inspire sustainable and regenerative living, in a setting that is wholesome, welcoming, and family friendly.

We will have festivals, cultural entertainment, workshops and fun classes. There will be lots to see and do, year round. We are now seeking investors!

At this time, we have a wonderful tenant on the land, who is working on our permaculture gardens, while our MD is away for a while. He is making amazing progress, the gardens are growing beautifully.

Meanwhile, as we work towards this goal of building the Center in Kinigi, we opened a Gift Shop & Coffee Patio in Musanze last year. But this year we had to switch to a new Musanze location, and we found the perfect place! We will be opening very soon, and we look forward to welcoming you! We will share here as soon as we open.

So you see, we have two locations, the Land in Kinigi, and the Shop in Musanze. There are always new developments as we build the dream. Stay tuned to follow our story. :)

🌳 **Air purification:** Trees absorb dust and pollutants such as nitrogen oxides and sulphur dioxide, which significantly improves air quality.

🌿 **Habitat:** Trees provide habitat and food for a variety of animals, including birds, insects and rodents, thus promoting biodiversity.

🌳 **Sound and visual protection:** Trees can act as a natural sound and visual barrier, which is particularly beneficial in urban areas.

🌿 **Shade and protection:** Trees provide shade and protection from UV radiation, which pleasantly cools the local microclimate.

Additionally, it can be mentioned:

📊 **Economic benefits:** Urban trees can increase property values and reduce energy costs by providing natural cooling.

📈 **Health benefits:** Spending time near trees and green spaces reduces stress, improves mental health and promotes physical activity.

At Kinigi Eco Center, every day is Earth Day. Our Center in Kinigi will teach and inspire sustainable and regenerative living, with the goal of creating a better world for all living things. But our journey has not been an easy one. We are regular everyday folks, laying the groundwork for a huge project! But we know that when people come together with good intentions, like minds, and unshakable determination, they can do great things!

While I am away in the US, working hard each day to make sure our goals are met, the Team is continuing their hard work on the ground, each and every day. Our Directors are doing their part, as well as Manager, Liaison, IT, Gardeners…. And today, Earth Day, I would like to give special thanks to Joachim, who is there at the Kinigi Site, working with his Crew to create a paradise, planting our permaculture gardens and bringing his creativity and passion for sustainable living to our Center.
