My name is Yuichi Akiyama, and I’m the one who was guided by you on the tour of battlefields on February 14 and 15.
On behalf of the three of us, I want to send you an email to thank you again.
I am very sorry that it took me so long to send you the email, as I was on a private trip to Europe immediately after returning to Japan.

Your guide made our trip to the Solomon Islands even more unforgettable.
We knew about the Pacific War, and we often hear about the fierce battles between the U.S. and Japanese forces on Guadalcanal Island.
Therefore, as Japanese, we wanted to learn more about its history, so we visited the Solomon Islands.
I would not have been very satisfied with the tour if I had relied solely on information from the Internet.
However, thanks to your guide, we were able to visit more battlefields and follow the footsteps of the Japanese forces.

The forests of Guadalcanal were just like the Solomon's jungle I had imagined from watching TV and movies.
It was deeply moving to think that we were seeing the same scenery as 80 years ago.
However, the view from the hills such as the Gifu Highland was so beautiful that I wondered if the fierce battles had been fought here.
The gap between the beauty of the landscape and the intensity of the battle made me feel sad.
I was also very moved and grateful that the local people have carefully cared for and preserved the cenotaphs and relics of the Japanese forces around Guadalcanal Island.
I thought that it would be a good idea to spend my life in the Solomon Islands assisting the bereaved families' association and the bone collection group to pass on this sad history to future generations, and to work for the preservation of the cenotaphs.
Of course, I will start working in April and will have a busy life, so I cannot visit or move to the Solomon Islands right now.
However, I hope to be involved in an effort to tell the story of the battle of Guadalcanal Island in some way, even if I’m in Japan.
And we would like to visit the Solomon Islands again someday.
At that time, we would like to visit IJN Kikutsuki, which I could not visit this time, of course with your guide.

CONFIRMED | RAFA'S SIGNING WITH FK VELEZ MOSTAR ALL SET

🔹 Rafa To Sign 6 Months Contract With Bosnia & Herzegovina Football Club

Solomon Islands International Raphael Lea'i will be playing at Bosnia and Herzegovina for the second half of the 2022-2023 season.

"Rafa's contract is ready, its all set and it is a six months contract more like a probation when someone is new to a job with an option for extention", Hudson Wakio said speaking to SFP.

The contract should have been signed already but Hudson said he failed to respond to FK Velež Mostar club officials calls because the calls were coming in on 2:00 am Solomon Time 27th January and he was asleep during that time.

"FK Velež Mostar required a letter from Henderson Eels club management before Rafa will put pen on paper" , Hudson explained.

Hudson said the letter should be sent by 9:00am today.

The first six months will only contain the player's benefits like his salary and benefits or compensations for clubs that is associated with Raphael Lea'i will come later after the contract renewal, " Hudson explained.

He also said that FK Velez Mostar would sign Rafa before travelling to Turkey for Mid-season friendlies on monday 30th January.

Hudson said the six month period is positive and important because it will help Rafa to exhibit his talents at Bosnia and Herzegovina.

When asked if SFP can release some informations about Rafa to SFP followers and the public, Hudson replied that even FK Velez Mostar know its no longer a secret. FK Velez Mostar officials told him he can realease info to the media and that Rafa is already part of the team and its just the official signing that needs to be done.

He also revealed that there are other UK football agents that are very interested in Raphael but he chose the Bosnia & Herzegovina one because it was the better option in many ways.

When asked if SIFF assisted with the trial, Hudson explained SIFF did inform him that He should notify them if he needs assistance with regards to Rafa's trial.

However it was during the festive season and everyone was quite busy so he did not send his request for assistance to SIFF at that time.
Currently the premier league of Bosnia and Herzegovina is in a winter break that falls between early December and late February.

This morning I received a sad message from a Friend saying that one of my sisters son passed on he had an heart attack his name is Joseph Futaburi just got married and had one daughter. Joseph Futaburi worked with a company from Sirilanka. Joe Futaburi was a builder, a sales man, a youths Leader of St. Augustine Catholic, Diocese Auki Town Malaita Province. A very sad story. May the Divine Mercy Lord Jesus Christ Blessed and take him to his Kingdom. I know Joseph Futaburi was a very kind young man that loved everyone. R.I.P.
