How it all started. The local prisoners worked really hard to construct the now Tulagi Cut. The construction work started in 1918 and completed in 1920.

As we reflect on the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal, we are happy to have our islands being part of this significant historical events. The invation of Tulagi on 3rd of May 1942 and the subsequent landing of the US marines on the Blue beach after almost three months on August 7th 1942 in the quest to secure Tulagi, Gavutu and Tanambogo marks the beginning of the six months of the Guadalcanal campaign.
