How it all started. The local prisoners worked really hard to construct the now Tulagi Cut. The construction work started in 1918 and completed in 1920.

As we reflect on the 82nd Anniversary of the Battle of Guadalcanal, we are happy to have our islands being part of this significant historical events. The invation of Tulagi on 3rd of May 1942 and the subsequent landing of the US marines on the Blue beach after almost three months on August 7th 1942 in the quest to secure Tulagi, Gavutu and Tanambogo marks the beginning of the six months of the Guadalcanal campaign.

Shout out to Simon Rea, the local marine conservationist behind the Simon's Bay Nature Reserve. Simon has been working hard with his family members over the years to protect the marine life which is a source of income for his family. Simon is planning to reach out to authorities for support to build facilities such as toilets, water supply and a small jetty to support his conservation initiative. Thank you Simon for the great service you offered to all visitors to Simon's Bay.

Rain and bad weather has disrupted some of our planned tours over the weekend. As weather permits we did the history tour to Tokyo Bay early this week. We also did some Island 🏝 sightseeing as part of the tour.
