- hand basin with freshwater

Moyenne island is a small island situated in the Ste Anne marine park. It is the world's smallest national park!

Home to more than 50 adults giant tortoises roaming around freely, Moyenne island is a unique place to visit. On the easy 1h trail that goes all around the island, you will learn about the history of the island, get to discover lots of endemic plant species, discover 2 beautiful secluded beaches and stunning granite formation. It is a beautiful place to stop for a visit on a half day or full day boat excursion around Mahe island.

Behind the picture:

It was the first time in my life seeing a sea turtle on a beach and it was supposed to be once in a lifetime moment our clients and I. Before this picture was taken, and while we were still on the boat, this sea turtle was digging a hole on the beach to lay her eggs, we could see the sand fly over her from afar.
Another smaller boat reached the beach just before us and 5 people ran towards the sea turtles and started surrounding her and taking pictures of her. Who can blame them, it is a unique and beautiful moment but by going so close to her, they disturbed her, she didn't feel safe anymore, she stopped what she was doing and ran back into the sea. I wished I could reach the beach before those people and tell them to stay at least 10m from her. It is a huge effort and takes a lot of energy for a turtle to walk up a beach and dig a hole to lay her eggs and because of the human disturbance she has to start all over again at another time.
Once we reached the beach, she was already going back into the sea and that's how we could take this picture.
I would like to remind everyone who have the chance to witness such a beautiful act, to keep their distance with the sea turtle at all time on the beach and observe her very quietly from afar. A picture can be taken from far also for souvenir but in silence.

I hope she will have the strength to come back and lay her eggs on this beach.

After 3 months of very rough sea, we were finally able to cruise to Praslin and La Digue islands. As the sea was rather calm, our clients could enjoy the cruise in front of the boat, seating comfortably and enjoying the beautiful scenery with cold refreshments.

If you are staying only on Mahe during your stay in Seychelles, you should plan a day visit to La Digue island.
Just a bit more than an hour away by boat, this island presents unique scenery and beaches and can be visited very easily by bicycle.
You will feel a completely different vibe than what you can experience on Mahe.

What an extraordinary encounter that was!!! First time in 5 years doing charter in Seychelles that we experienced such a close encounter with dolphins and sharks on our boat. We were on our way to Praslin island when we spotted dolphins in front of us, as usual we stopped the engine and started to observe them. For once, this group decided to circle our boat for about 30 minutes, they were so close to us, a group of 20 dolphins with babies. Suddenly, we saw those big black tip sharks joining the party and circling the boat as well (probably waiting to feed on this group of fishes who were hiding below the hull of the boat). It was a magical moment that we will never forget as it is so rare to be able to approach dolphins and sharks so close and being able to observe them for 30 minutes. We didn’t dare to jump in the sea as they were on feeding mode and both species can have unexpected behaviour towards humans but we observed them from our boat and putting our phone below the surface of the water from the back of the boat to make this video.
