In 1975 Kenana Sugar Company (KSC) was launched as a joint venture between the Government of Sudan, State of Kuwait, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, inter-governmental bodies and the private sector. Since its inception KSC is considered as one of the largest integrated diversified sugar company in the world with an average annual production of 500,000 tons of refined sugar together with other related pro
ducts including co-generation, ethanol, animal feed, meat, poultry and agriculture products. In 1986 Kenana Engineering and Technical Services, Ltd, (KETS) was founded to utilize KSC’s expertise by meeting the increasing demand for an affordable consulting and engineering services to the agro-industrial sector in Sudan and abroad. Looking into the regional arena for opportunities in the agri-business sector KETS with its headquarter in Khartoum, Sudan, was able to penetrate the local and international markets reporting a high growth rate and leaving its footprints in various countries in the continent.
