World Braille Day
Today we celebrate the birth of Louis Braille who was born in Coupvray, outside Paris on 4th of January 1809. Louis was blinded by accident at the age of three. He developed a system of tactile code at the age of 15. This system is now known as “Braille”. This tactile reading and writing system provides the opportunity for literacy to millions of people around the world. Because of that, we celebrate braille.
