Looking at this quotation with a pragmatically perspective we were wondering what is beyond the performance of the people that we believe are talented. What we intend for talented people? How do we cope with them? How do we relate talented people with “common” people? How to be sure that “common” people exist where talented people evolve? How can we nurture their capabilities? Indeed, “Talent without enthusiasm is like a Ferrari without fuel.” (Sebastyne Young)
These are only few of the questions that have taken place in our questioning and have been conveyed through the paper “Managing in the Talent Economy, the Football Model for Business” (2008) by Chris Brady, David Bolchover and Brian Sturgess. For several decades, Football is the most famous sport all over the world. Passion, Performance, Challenge, Emotion and Socialization are the “touchable” features and traits of this activity. Notwithstanding today, speaking about football only as a sport or as an entertainment is outdated and meaningless. Nowadays, football is a high field of lucrative business where talented people are “bundled” together. This phenomenon is either strong or controversial that someone hazards to label it as the management of Divas or Prima Donnas. Therefore, given this sole characteristic of football we set the target and issues of our MASTER’S THESIS : Managing Talented People in Organizations, through the football’s example.
