The first summer is almost coming to an end at PanoramaMountainLodge. But no regrets! The magical Indian summer is coming up. Still in need for a nice break in the nature? You will probably not want to leave your wonderful house once you get here, but it would be a pity not to enjoy all that the beautiful countryside of Lofsdalen has to offer in summer. Amazing hiking routes or mountain bike rides leave from your back door. If you are more adventurous, you can show your skills on the ski slopes doing downhill racing. You try your hand at fishing or stay overnight in Lofsdalen's Bears' Den for an exciting experience. Feeling sporty, then go for a trip in a canoe or go for a swim in the lake.

After the colourful Autumn, the wind blew in a chill in the air and the first snowflakes started to fall. Time to get our houses ready for human habitation... humans quite in favour of a bit of style and luxury on our mountain top!

Once the leaves started to fall and the outer shell was wind and water tight, work on the inside could begin. It was time to put flesh on the bones. All the electrical work and plumbing were taken care of and the beautiful wooden walls and flooring were completed.

Over the summer the progress was incredible. After just a few weeks the outside of the first four houses was completed. We got some help from Santa's little helpers 😁. And typical for Scandinavia, the roofs were covered with peat for a beautiful ecological look.

The work has been done with a lot of respect for the surroundings and the old signature trees have been kept and protected. Once the foundations where ready the posts and beams where assembled. What a lovely way to build! And what a view! Spring had come with dry weather and soon the sun would shine for almost 24 hours a day. The shape of the houses was becoming apparent after a few days of work. The dream was taking shape....

At the beginning of this year 5 Belgian families started a new adventure in Sweden. Lofsdalen is a small village in the middle of Europe's last wilderness. It is their dream to create a place to unwind and to be able to go back to nature. On May 7th this year, when the last snow was losing its fight against the sun, the first work started and about 1 month later the "woodwork" could begin.....
