Just like the animals of the region stay warm in the cold with their thick fur, the right layers will keep you warm and comfortable, no matter how chilly it gets.🦊🐾

Swipe through to see how each layer works to protect you from the elements, inspired by Lapland’s wildlife:

1️⃣ Layer 1 - Thermal: Like the lynx’s thick fur, your thermal base layer traps warmth and wicks away moisture, keeping you comfortable all day.

2️⃣ Layer 2 - Wool or Fleece: Just like the reindeer’s coat, this mid-layer provides insulation and moves moisture away from your body.

Today, Sweden celebrates St. Lucia’s Day, a magical tradition that brings light and warmth to the darkest time of the year. ✨

The celebration has its roots in the story of St. Lucia, a young Sicilian martyr known for bringing food and aid to Christians hiding in the catacombs, using a candle-lit wreath to light her way. Over time, the Swedish tradition evolved into a joyous, festive occasion, symbolizing the triumph of light over darkness.

🎶 The highlight is the Luciatåg, where a young girl in a white gown with a crown of candles leads a beautiful procession of singers through the streets, filling the air with festive songs.

And of course, no Lucia Day is complete without enjoying some Lussekatter (saffron buns)—sweet, fluffy treats shaped like little curls that are as delicious as they are festive! 🤤

🌀 Have you ever gazed at the Northern Lights and felt a sense of both wonder and unease? For the Sámi, the indigenous people of northern Scandinavia, these captivating lights carry a deep sense of mystery and respect.

Unlike tales of heroism, the Sámi believed the Northern Lights were a bad omen, thought to be the souls of the deceased. Talking about them was considered risky, and teasing the lights by waving, whistling, or singing could draw their attention. Legend has it that if you caught the lights’ gaze, they might reach down and take you away—or even worse! 😱

🔥Because of this, many Sámi prefer to stay indoors when the auroras light up the sky, just to be safe.

In Sweden’s Lapland, reindeer skins aren’t just useful—they’re part of local traditions. For centuries, the Sámi people have used them to stay warm in the freezing Arctic winters. Reindeer skin is naturally great at keeping the cold away, so it’s perfect for snowy adventures.
