The Wild Hunt: 3 AM Forever returns!

The larp 3 AM Forever return in Tampere as part of the A Week in Finland programming before Solmukohta! The larp runs on Tuesday 9th of April and happens between 16:00 and 24:00 in a Tampere venue.

Participating in the larp requires a separate sign up and participation fee.

The sign up opens in early February. The larp can accommodate 60-80 participants, depending on how many sign ups we get.

The Orpheus Theatre is known for the hazy, unreal midnight celebrations following its premieres and productions. Actors, art students, derelicts, junkies, the stars of yesterday, and the promising talent of tomorrow all creep in for that sordid dance-floor magic, for the slow, h***y chaos of drugged up 3 AM confusion. Emerging in the early hours, steeped in bizarre regrets and haunting memories, you wonder whether everything really happened.

There are plenty of rumours that strange tragedies follow people at these parties, and that being involved in the theatre’s productions is dangerous. Few bother to see the shows – small weird affairs with short runs, and bizarre, haunting imagery. They come for the parties

There is a reason why The Orpheus is too strange to succeed, yet pulls in the hungry, the lonely, and the yearning. The fae lurk in the shadows, eager to touch the reality and spark of a human being. Eager to be changed by it. The fae feed every ambition and creative impulse, no matter how dangerous or self-destructive. For the faeries at their eternal party, there is no beauty as striking as that of human desperation.

Dance, human. Dance at the risk of having to dance for ever.

3 AM Forever is a larp set at the party following a premiere at The Orpheus. In the hours from when the show ends to the end of the night, you will lose yourself in your dreams, stumbling out as both less and more than what you were before. The memories of what you did might fill you with dread but you'd do it all over again.

The Orpheus Theatre is known for the hazy, unreal midnight celebrations following its premieres and productions. Actors, art students, derelicts, junkies, the stars of yesteryear, and the promising talent of tomorrow flock to the flames of sordid dance-floor magic, for the slow, h***y chaos of drugged-up 3 AM confusion. Emerging in the early hours, steeped in bizarre regrets and haunting memories, you will wonder whether the night actually happened.

3 AM Forever is a larp set at the party following a premiere at The Orpheus. You will dance, flirt, take risks, do something dumb, lose yourself, start a fight, reconcile, get seduced, make a bad bet, gossip, double down on your mistakes, lie, confess, and discover your heart's desire. You'll lose control as the boundaries between the real and the Fae begin to blur. As the magic of the eternal party overwhelms you it matters less and less who's fae and who isn't. Eventually all act as the faerie.

In the hours from when the show ends to the end of the night, you will lose yourself in your dreams, stumbling out as both less and more than what you were before. The memories of what you did might fill you with dread, but you know you'd do it all over again.

3 AM Forever:
- A party larp set in the present day
- Works heavily with meta-techniques to portray fae glamour
- Light and audio as tools to transport the characters to another world
- Will begin with a 2 hour workshop followed by 5 hours runtime
- Most participants will be playing humans

Welcome to the first larp of The Wild Hunt, a series of original larps from Participation | Design | Agency. The world changes. The paths to Fae remain.

Time: Friday, January 28th. at 16.00-02.00
Place: Copenhagen, Denmark. Musikcaféen i Huset.
Number of participants: 50-100
Price: Standard ticket 79 Eur, Sponsor Ticket 99 Eur, Subsidized Ticket 59 Eur.

If you’d like to make a weekend of it, we will be organising social events on the Saturday for the participants! A debrief Brunch, social hang out during the day – including some light and optional Wild Hunt -themed programming – and on Saturday evening we will meet at a bar to party together out of character. It will be a fun-filled weekend!

HOW TO BUY THE LARP DESIGN BOOK AT KNUTEPUNKT 2021. (For information on how to buy it elsewhere, please view the comments).

Because the first edition of the 2019 book Larp Design – Creating Role-Play Experiences sold out very fast, a corrected second printing was prepared for distribution primarily at Solmukohta 2020. While the pandemic stopped that convention, but the books were already printed. We would love for you to buy them!

The book was produced on a non-profit basis; if it accidentally were to make a profit, that money will benefit the Larp Fund. A pdf of the book will be released later in 2021. But before that happens we would like to entice you to GET A HARD COPY.

You want a hard copy because this pedagogical book by 65 writers from 10 countries represents a coherent summary of what the Nordic Larp community has learned about larp design during almost a quarter century of Knutepunkts.

You want a hard copy because it's 400+ pages, and navigating the content on paper is an absolute pleasure. (For this second corrected edition, we were able to shave off some weight, so it's even nicer to read than the original)!

You want a hard copy because it is a gorgeous object, designed by Anne Serup Grove.

You want a hard copy for your library, your company, your university, your role-playing club, and because it makes a wonderful gift to larp designer friends.

(And also, possibly, you want a hard copy as a way of supporting us here at PDA; we cashflowed the printing and are still in the hole for that cost!)

The book is available in some bookstores online – I will link them in the comments – but if you are coming to KP in Norway, you can now buy the book at a very VERY LOW COMMUNITY PRICE, and also not pay for shipping.

If you already have this book and like it, you can support it by writing a comment below about something in it that you enjoyed!

Another thing that would be helpful is to look in the comments for a bookstore that carries the title in your country, and tell your non-KP-going friends, your university library, and other interested parties to order their copies there!

To order a Larp Design book ONLY for in-person delivery at Knutepunkt 2021, please click below.

The 2019 Knudepunkt book Larp Design is back in print (but in this web store on sale ONLY for delivery at the Knutepunkt conference in Oslo – see below ) Edited by Johanna Koljonen, Jaakko Stenros, Anne Serup Grove, Aina D.
