We are now in the low-season, but there is still camping action and new Overland people show up every day, have a dinner at our little restaurant ChefInn™ and enjoy our Offroadcamp® and the now changing colors in nature. And every year in the low-season we have to do some winter preparations on our vehicles and at the campsite. Better now than in a few weeks when it gets colder. So the whole team is busy. Jona and Adam clean up the forest around the Offroadcamp®, the boss handles the day-to-day business with our guests and the cowboy takes care of vehicle maintenance and the winter logistics. And the Sledrent team has made some upgrades to the snowmobile rental fleet. Thanks for that! As you can see, there isn’t much room left to sit on our butts, but the countdown to the end of the summer season is almost over. Don’t forget we close on September 30th and then reopen before Christmas for snowmobile season. See you soon!

📣 Under vecka 37 till vecka 40 kommer en del av den nederländska Försvarsmakten på besök till Sverige. Under denna period kan det synas både svensk och nederländsk militär personal och fordon i Dalarna. De har blivit inbjudna av Försvarets Materielverk för att genomföra en nederländsk förbandsövning. Svenska Försvarsmakten stödjer övningen med logistik, så kallat värdlandsstöd.

Om du möter militära fordon på vägarna är det viktigt att du håller avstånd och tar det lugnt. Eftersom fordonen i en militärkolonn ofta är tyngre och bredare än vanliga personbilar behöver du lämna ordentliga säkerhetsmarginaler vid ett möte.

🔺HINDRA INTE EN MILITÄRKOLONN
Du får köra om en militärkolonn så länge du inte hindrar eller stör kolonnen. Vi måste kunna köra som planerat och hålla ett visst avstånd mellan våra fordon, detta är olagligt att hindra.

Tänk på att det är riskfyllt att köra om våra fordon eftersom förarna inte alltid har samma synfält som i en vanlig lastbil, fordonen är tunga och våra kolonner kan vara upp till 2 km långa.

What’s next?
Well, in the 2025 summer season we will go climbing with you in the forest. There is a huge cliff waiting for many adventures and our climbing guide and instructor Jona is absolutely thrilled to show you this place with great views and lots of exciting situations await you. At the moment he is busy exploring and testing the cliff as much as possible and you can believe it is “amazing” there!

We are back on the right track!
After a few crappy days of rain, the sun and warm temperatures are back. And as we write this, an extremely beautiful butterfly crosses the screen on its way to the flowers. Crazy.
The Offroadcamp® is fully booked again for tonight and that’s great. Welcome to all new guests and have a nice evening!

We are very happy about the visit of all travelers to our Offroadcamp® in Dalarna/Sweden. The campsite is fully booked almost every day and given the expected rain this evening, some enduro travelers have also booked dry and comfortable accommodation. Cool! If you are one of the late season travelers, please do not forget that the Offroadcamp® will be closed from September 30th. This is a fixed day and for various reasons there is no possibility of a spontaneous overnight stay after September 30th. Thank you for your understanding! Anyway, we haven’t reached that point yet and we’ll keep rocking with you for the next 5 weeks. See you soon!

We had a really good Saturday morning in our kayaks and are one step further in our kayak captain adventure that we will offer you in the upcoming 2025 summer season. So stay tuned and experience a beginners paddling time with us next summer! And thank you to the (off duty and kayak rookie) junior boss Luca for the fantastic run today!

Summer season 24 is slowing down a bit and we are almost in Indian Summer mode. The colors change and the temperatures are below 20 degrees Celsius during the day and below ten degrees for a few hours at night. But that’s okay and there’s a lot to explore now. Mushrooms are everywhere, you can pick berries, hike through our wild and peaceful surroundings, rent our Super73 e-bikes or book a guided tour and there is also the possibility of paddling activities (from now on only on weekends) with our packrafts and If you’ve ever wanted to try a kayak or learn the Eskimo roll, we’ve got you prepped and ready to roll! Do you like going fishing? No problem in the Offroadcamp®. The nearby Lake Frisen is rich in fish and as a camping guest you can expect a free boat! Please just buy a fishing license at reception! The last few days have been a little different. There’s a lot going on in our area these days, so part of the team had a day and a half off for the annual motor festival in Älvdalen. Off-road, cruising, burnout and car meetings. Absolutely a blast and a must! Such days are only possible in Sweden and you must definitely experience what the REAL SWEDISH WAY OF LIFE is 😜.
Of course, camping life goes on in the Offroadcamp® and there is a lot of activity in our tiny restaurant ChefInn™.
And in between we do some Jeep maintenance work and experiment a little with the V8 sound of our classic Coronita pickup truck. Stay tuned, it’s going to be great.

Hell yeah. That was pretty pretty cool today. The water level in the rapids was perfect for paddling and of course a bit of swimming. And guess what, not even a wave was missed today and all the captains did a great job and made quick progress in the rapids 😜. Thank you everyone for Splish Splash Day and for trusting us as guides.

The season is going gooood!
We are more than happy with the bookings and sometimes there is a little time left for side projects. So we hand-lettered a '65 Volvo PV door with our logo, started polishing the badtunna on the Igelkotthus, looked around for a little more decoration, and found a cool old tire (burnout victim). And the shelves are also stocked with homemade blueberry jam. There are now 8 weeks of summer season left and we hope we can continue the good run and the good vibes with you as our guests. We are beyond grateful to all the travelers who have come in the last two months. Many new faces with various overland vehicles have visited us, but old guests also visit the Offroadcamp® year after year and simply enjoy our unique place. And that’s great! We are almost halfway through the summer season and there is a lot of flow in the Offroadcamp®! We would like to thank all of our guests for staying here and enjoying our small and cozy campsite. It’s a great Offroadcamp® Saturday!
A lot can happen in just one day and we have really good teamwork. For those who don’t know, we are a family business and four people rock the whole show. The boss, the Cowboy, junior boss Jona and helping hand Adam. Everyone knows what to do and that makes the work really fun!
Back to this Saturday: Of course we have camping guests who enjoy our location, we held a “Ride & Raft” adventure (see our website), the Igelkotthus rental cabin has a fresh coat of paint and gravel in front of the house has been filled and straightened, our little restaurant is up and running and some bear and moose burgers are already served and folks, the day isn’t over yet. The weather? It’s 23 degrees, sunny with few clouds and our lake is a good place to cool off. By the way: All floating things on the lake are available to our camping guests free of charge! Stay relaxed and see you soon at the Offroadcamp®!

After the rain it’s PACKRAFTING time!
The water level has almost tripled after days of liquid sunshine and this is the right moment for our packrafting guides Adam and Jona to try out our home rapid stretch and practice their paddling skills. And of course, training means trying the maximum and crossing the fine line to take a refreshing swim 😜.

We’re not really in bikini weather mode, but the temperatures are perfect for all kinds of activities, cruising, exploring or just sitting by the fire. Or maybe our SPA-Garage is just the thing after a great day full of action. Relax in the hot tub and just call it a day. We had a blast!
It was the junior boss’s debut as a packrafting guide and as leader of the Offroadcamp® adventure “Ride & Raft”! And I’ll tell you what: He did a great job and our guests from Ireland and Australia didn’t have a single scary moment. They had so much fun on their first whitewater experience and the progress in paddling was immense. The e-bike tour to the rapids passes through stunning scenery and when they arrived, everything was ready to rock the show! Of course, the good food couldn’t be missed and we would like to thank our guests for this fantastic day. Pretty damn good job Jona, the future is now!
