Our farmhouse Ostangard was built in 1927. The property, which is only a few hundred metres from the water front, is surrounded by farmland. Depending on the time of year you visit, you could be greeted by yellow rapeseed flowers, blue linseed blossoms or golden wheat fields. The ocean views from the top floor are spectacular. The property itself is a traditional farmers' house, with two bedrooms
and two large living rooms, a dining area as well a modern kitchen and bathroom. The downstairs bedroom has nice garden views and houses a queen size bed with lots of space for storage. The spacious upstairs master bedroom has a king size bed and ocean views. In the large upstairs living space, 3 comfortable single beds provide an excellent space for children to make their own, but it is also suitable for grown ups. The downstairs living room has a large sofa area as well as a sitting area by the fire place. It offers a 42" TV, home cinema with dvd player and a chromecast so you can screen whatever you like on the TV. The whole house is equipped with fibreoptic broadband that you connect to via wifi. The dining area is probably our favourite part of the house - the reclaimed elm dining table stands in a stunning built in verandah which has views across the garden and towards the south of the island. The bathroom is renovated to a high standard with a large shower. The kitchen is generously equipped and recently renovated with fridge/freezer, integrated oven, and a dishwasher. You are welcome to use the Nespresso coffee maker as well as any other of the other equipment available. The views around the property are spectacular. The kitchen looks out over a secluded garden. From the living room and verandah downstairs you have sweeping views to the south across the island. If you venture upstairs, you have ocean views in three directions: Landskrona in the East, Helsingborg and Helsingor in the North and Copenhagen in the South. On a clear day, you can see the Oresund Bridge in the distance. The garden is perfect for barbeques, and provides a wonderful big space for children (and grown ups) to play in. There is plenty of garden furniture to make use of, some of which is set up as an outdoor dining area. The furniture can easily be moved around depending on whether and coastal winds. We like to grow things so feel free to help yourself to herbs, raspberries, rhubarb, plums and apples if they are ripe when you visit. We have taken great care in renovating the house and hope that you will enjoy the mix of old and new with a coastal flair. The island of Ven is a scandinavian holiday paradise! The white sandy beaches are all within walking or biking distance of the house, as are the island's three small harbours, which are full of activity in the summer. The island's beautiful 9 hole golf course is a short walk away. Ven is a small idyllic island in the middle of the Oresund region, and a popular destination for those who wish to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life in nearby Copenhagen and Malmo. The island offers lots of activities for the whole family set in stunning scenery. A walk or a bike ride across the island is the best way to appreciate the quaint houses and the spectacular views across the ocean to the mainland. It's a wonderfully safe place so children can explore on their own! It's easy and convenient to rent bikes for the whole family. A visit to the astronomer Tycho Brahe's museum and recreated renaissance garden is an absolute must. And not to be missed is our old church, S:t Ibb. It hails from the 14th century, and offers spectacular views across the ocean. Foodies will undoubtedly enjoy the local goats cheese maker, the artisan bakery (where the bread is made with grains grown on the island), the renowned fish restaurant Ella's (book in advance!) and a handful of other eateries and bars open in summer time. We are also very proud of the award winning local whiskey distillery Spirit of Hven - book a tour or stop by for a delicious tipple. There is a great local grocery store and a kiosk on Ven.
